It’s actually from 31st December 1992, ie Thames’s final evening. A Murder of Quality (how apt) was the final programme to be fully networked by Thames.

Although the Ford Escort Salon replaced Orion in 1993 Focus replaced the Escort range in 1998. Mark 3 Escort came out in the early 1980's decided to called Salon model Orion.

1993 Ford Mondeo replaced Sierra & Escort Salon replaced Orion. In 1994 Scorpio replaced Granada although some countries had it since 1985.

That's correct! I found it amusing that they used a Maverick in the Ford Advert on this break; not only was the Maverick a muscle car 2 decades before (my friend owns one), but the UK Maverick was a rebadged Nissan Terrano!

@@TopRareMedia that wasn’t 100% intentional lol. I usually just clip up and do a few small fixes too things. But this one I put into edit software to mono the audio (because one side of the stereo pair was really bad). I must have exported in 720p In error.

0:38 Fascinating to see that the early Stanley Street set which as seen here is clearly a real-life street, changed at some stage with a purpose-built set because those detached houses in the background later became Cook Terrace with the pawn shop at ground level.

I regularly watched this as a teenager from 1997 and I'm now entering middle age. As a 14 year old, I cried for Roy at 4:19. 25 years later, I'm watching this back and feeling his grief again.
