Cool footage! Do you happen to have any clear shots of Philippine Airlines’ 747-200s that used to fly to SFO back in the day?

18 years old and I moved to San Jose in 86. I saw an ad in the paper for a "Ramp Agent." I was running my own crew in 6 months, and was working around all these beautiful aircraft. What a lucky young man I was, and what a great time the 80's were. Now I'm 56 and realizing everyday how wonderful those days were, and feeling like it will never be like that again...........

The Continental looks like it's in an old People's Express livery. PE never did much for me and was short-lived. I love these old airports. I like seeing Denver Stapleton since memories of flying in there is you have now; never have been to the "new" airport. Great videos keep up the good work!
@MarsAveSoАй бұрын
Agreed Rex but I'd film everything especially any 727...SJC had a lot of changes over the years...both Terminal wise and Airline/aircraft wise....stay tuned for more I have quite a bit of AirCal I'll be posting in the future.

Awesome landing of the United Airlines DC-8-71. That was a very long aircraft. This DC-8-71 is 187 vs 181 feet which is 6 feet longer than the wide body DC-10.

@@billnelson3732 No prob I filmed at SJC from 1970s till 2005 ish up until they ruined the fence vantage points,,,SJC now considered a "no photo" airport for those of us who filmed there for years..very few vantage points like the old days.

This is outstanding footage of a classic airliner flown by what was my favorite airline. Being able to fly such an aircraft must have been really cool not to mention prestigious. Of course, along with that came tremendous risks and responsibilities.

Amazing to think that some of the brand new planes that were sitting on the tarmac on that day are probably now being scrapped or are about to be retired by the airlines. As what a wise man once told me ‘Every car was once sitting brand new on a dealer’s lot, waiting to be taken home by the 1st customer’
