I beg to differ Questlove! Chuck D was lit from the gate. It was the beats that got better on the second album.

they were so fundamental to hip hop as we know it, despite the racists who try to dis them. and they were such an important Part of hardcore punk in the very early 80s.

You can tell who the frontman is just based on the clothes.

Pino does not seem old enough to be playing since 1975. I see Pino as the quintessential bassist, doing his job the right way. Not overplaying but doing it in a way that nobody can depreciate. I agree with his ideas of drums, rhythm and just bass. I like how he knows all the genres. Yes, playing African music is going to make a big difference for a white Bassist and If you skip that, going to create some big problems. Majority of the most challenging basslines come outside of the Rock Genre, you need to challenge yourself. No practice = no rhythm. Pino did all of his homework, says he can't tell people how to play, no but he mentions WHAT to play. I spend years playing things I don't actually like and those are called my weaknesses. No weaknesses then, you must be a strong player. Pino does not have any weaknesses, not at bass. He studied everything about it, from Jazz to Classical. His lines and bebop language are ridiculously good, I don't know Bebop language right now. If I follow this pattern then, I won't need to have any weakness either.

name someone who has rapped into a microphone more times than Black Thought. Most likely has logged more stage time than any MC in history.

Talk about a full circle moment. How cathartic must it have been for Ben to share that, decades after that episode aired, to be the embodiment of (artistically) the cause of pain that so many boys and men (and girls and women) experienced and empathized through Will's character's performance. And to know Will's father was actually in his life (in real life) but to know Ben's mother, in the way he described, wasn't. Still to this day, I cannot watch that episode beyond whenever it was the last time I did, which has been so many years passed. It's a lot to remember and to feel, intensely, though I've healed a lot since then. What a strange thing time and wisdom are, if you live long enough to heal and reflect. Anyway...onwards...

Well glad they have a strong relationship with him as they should. what people need to remember especially back in the day when success was much more difficult to attain, dads who do big things are hardly ever home so they should erase his guilt, he should have no guilt, u should thank him everyday. you didnt have a regular 9- 5 dad, so dont have 9-5 expectations of him

This is horrifying! And heartbreaking as a mom. What made her choose to give Ben away when she had all those other kids?!😢 So painful for him. At least he had a loving home and parents that nurtured him.

Do any examples exist of Prince playing guitar at a high level on video? Filmed footage of Prince playing guitar seem to be even rarer than video of Randy Rhoads playing live…🎸
