This works on two levels, because much like the "civilian" government officials in Chernobyl, Amaris would've refused to believe such reports if they were delivered by anyone lower-ranking than the commander of the 4th Amaris Dragoons

There's a special kind of insane bastard to breach a room with satchel charges while your CO bullies an entire army with 9 mechs, then survives a nuke to the face. And it's only found with bagpipes for ambience.
