If I have a scenario where I need to reduce thrust to IDLE on one engine (egt overlimit, engine surge) but not shut it down, will I get a LVR MCT prompt to set the thrust lever to the MCT detent for the unaffected engine? Thank you.

I’m an airline pilot, and I still come back and watch these videos before every recurrent sim I have. ❤ I fly a 787 these days, but spent plenty of time on the Airbus first😊

You're right, Joe. We don’t use it enough because, during the type rating, there isn’t enough time to cover it in detail.

Great video. Could you possibly do another scenario where you shoot an approach but have to go missed. So now you're holding at the missed approach point and you're trying to figure out how long you can hold, then shoot another approach, before heading to you alternate.

Hey Joe awesome video. Why does the Green 320 system remain lower quantity at cruise? Is that because it is holding the landing gear up?

What’s the purpose of this video?? In big jets are you actually doing landings in such winds and apply such skills? I need to find the book that teaches this kind of stuff. Where did you get all this stuff from?

If AP is allowed to be used in the training that’s true, if it’s not allowed… I found 737’s rudder is easier to trim and thrust also 🥲
@AymanMujahid-d4yАй бұрын

@joshilini2Ай бұрын
To add the list for the 737: Once you have trimmed the rudder, when you come in to land, you cut the power and the rudder trim will still be there. With the power idle and the rudder trimmed to the dead engine, you may now need to use opposite rudder to land (or re-centre the rudder trim control just before touchdown) as the trimmed rudder may cause you to yaw. Never flown the 320 single engine in the sim so not sure if it is similar in this scenario.

that's why I gave up the 737 in FS2020. Too much work. Not that I didn't like but tere is too much workload. I'm not a pilot anyway.

So I see people say if you hear a “ptu” sounds on a 737 you better start praying. What do they mean if you hear it on there? I know Boeing 737s don’t have PTUs or at least don’t make the same barking sound. but if you do hear a similar sound on a 737 is that a bad sign?
@1stepprepАй бұрын
@@xpsychotimesx9996 I'll do a video on this soon and explain the why behind this!

@@1stepprep I look forward to it! Just subscribed to learn more from you! Learning the mechanics of flying kinda helps with my flight anxiety that I’ve developed over the years. I was very comfortable back when I was younger. But seeing so many wild videos of planes In flat spins. Commercial aircraft’s stalling on the runway (other countries) More turbulence at low altitude than there was in the late 90s early 2000s. I’ve just kinda lost trust in it all. And I really want to combat that feeling! Thanks again!

What a lot of training centers don’t tell you. Just because you pay for the type rating, US airlines will not increase their interest in hiring you. Those certificated under EASA don’t not require that 1500 hours TT like the FAA. That’s why I see so many foreign candidates coming to flight training international and embry riddle to pursue those type ratings.

I cheat quite a bit to the upwind side on the 747. The 747-8 is very bank critical to prevent a pod strike.
@cloudstreets1396Ай бұрын
If you are tracking the localizer on an ILS approach will a managed descent obey altitude restrictions prior to the FAF? In other words, can the Airbus use a ground based navigation source such as a localizer for lateral guidance and an RNAV source for vertical guidance?
