Is there anyway to slice and split samples? Seems like an oversight to me
@Hyfudiar11 күн бұрын
Oh absolutely, you just hover your cursor over a sample and press the S key to split it at that point. It's actually the fastest and easiest method of splitting I've seen in a DAW haha, you don't even have to click anywhere.

You're a block head for even using it. There's no grid, yet you're paying $3 for it.
@Hyfudiar22 күн бұрын
You can add a grid if you want one! Not having a grid/tempo by default is actually part of the philosophical vision for the DAW as I understand it though - I believe it is supposed to be a DAW that is more freeing and creatively open than strictly tied to tempo/etc. Colugo talks about it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hmbJiIN4hMmlj5o

A LOT MORE people would watch this video all the way through if you simply cut out all the clips of you leaving your computer. And more people that watch your video all the way through will cause more people to check out the video. IDK what u are using to screen record but OBS Studio is Great and its free. Pluss its super easy to pause streaming or recording. Just change the hotkeys to something easy to remb. Mine is Ctrl+S to Strart Streaming & Shift+S to Stop & Cntrl+R to start recording & Shift+R to Stop.

system requirements?
@HyfudiarАй бұрын
Not sure, sorry! I think it's fairly lightweight (as far as DAWs go, anyway), but I'm sure some more extreme uses of it will be taxing on older systems. I've had next to no issue with it though, nearly every (*maybe* all, think it might have happened a couple times though) crash I've had has just been caused by a bug. I haven't really had any issues with it freezing and crashing for performance issues, even when doing fairly demanding things like loading 10GB of audio files into it simultaneously.

@@Hyfudiar Thanks for the reply, wondering coz I'm using a 15 year old PC running windows 7. Not the worst PC in its own right, but as you'd know rather many things annoyingly require windows 10+ (which is why I got Reaper and FL Studio).

@@Frikoppie Hmm yeah, really don't know if it would run on Windows 7 or not, sorry.

I have a beta blockhead version from a while back, it was buggy so I stopped using it. Really need to get back into it. I was immediately could tell that FM was cross modulating, it really reminds me of my ax60 tbh
@Hyfudiar22 күн бұрын
It's definitely still got its bugs, but it's worth checking out again! Colugo is consistently putting out interesting updates and steady bugfixes. I really need to make a part 2 video to this soon, going over the stuff that has been added in the meantime.

I haven't played it myself haha - I played a little bit of Destiny 2 when I started working on this project to get a bit of a feel for the game, but I think Pathfinder is from the most recent DLC so I didn't get a chance to play with it personally.

I'm very confused. What is the point of this?
@Hyfudiar3 ай бұрын
Are you asking about the purpose of redesigns in general? If so, it's basically something to allow a sound designer to have good material to design sound for without needing to be on a game dev team or something like that.

Is there already a way to enlarge all blocks / lanes in a project? Similar to what the "hover + F" command does, but just for all of the stuff? That would sometimes come in very handy. Couldnt find anything by clicking around or searching through your FANTASTIC manual :) Maybe you know it! That would be very nice!
@Hyfudiar4 ай бұрын
I don't know of one, but that would be useful for sure! It would definitely be worth putting in the suggestions channel in the Discord server! Also, I don't think I knew about the hover-F shortcut! Thanks for mentioning it, I'll put it in the documentation!
