I need to see this against the hardware but nice video, Tim almost nailed it!

Isn't it funny to read on another todays "sensation newest fairchild emulation" hype, about how it the first closest to a hardware, while AA Ultramarine here is for five years already.

Im not trying to ruin Acustca's marketing of this because it sound good from a Mixing Point of view, Im definately buying it, the fact that you get a Compex analog VCA comp in here and the rare EMT PMW comp is worth the purchase alone but from a mastering point of view EBONY is better its an EMT Rack as well, as long as you turn off the Reverb Ebony seems to sound better on mastering At least in my studio ITB on my Alesis M1 MK2 Monitors and my AT40 and 701 headphones and when I shot them out Analog going through my Mackie 32.8 Bus and Warm Audio G Comp going back into my UAD Volt in Vintage mode So from a Mastering standpoing Ebony is Better if your just gettin this for Mastering and the Ebony Comp on drums and Bass is Spot it

Could you make an audio example with cleaner sounding drums please.
@AntiTeatarMusicАй бұрын
This is a drums recording straight from SSL 4k preamps into a Avid converters. No eq or compression was applied and this is as clean as you can get with this recording so color is coming from microphones and preamps. Of course phase relations could be fixed slightly to get more precision but for this purpose I think it was not needed. It was made just to see action and sound of this compressor not to mix drums to a recording. What you might prefer is some sampled or electronic drum sounds. I will try to test with those later.

@@AntiTeatarMusic Thanks fella. Was not to criticize just a suggestion. Would you recommend purchasing this comp?

@@thegroove2000 If you have Commercial Nebula N4 - N4.5 then this is by far one of the most sought after compressors. Not often used on drums but its a gold for vocals. Highly recommended !

Thank you for showing the plugin on real material and making real moves on it, I dunno what is happening, @AcusticaAudio is releasing great plugins but no there are no reviews for them made by decent bloggers/engineers... So thank you for showing real performance of plugin. It would be great to hear your thoughts on it. TNX

When acustica first came along with their 3D marketing models it looked Like such bs. I was all in though. Still am. N4, TIM P, Alex b , cupwise libraries , ACUSTICA won me over pretty quick with one thing, that when you got it working, they didn’t feel like waves or UAD. These felt like the ones weren’t supposed to have. They fell off a truck. The compressors annoyed me in the sane my rack channel strip annoyed me. The Eqs were also hit and miss but sometimes they made waves and UAD feel like toys. Or maybe a little bit of seasoning. ACUSTICA wasn’t messing around and some pretty solid loyalty to their first customers. I still remember turning to 10k knob on Ruby EQ and thinking “that exists in a computer now. It was awesome.” Secret about AA comps, you can bury the needle ands it’s fine, in fact great. Hope they don’t lose site of the goal. TopAqua comps for me: ElRey (Sorry it is), taupe comp, honey 3 comp, Cola, CORAL, N4 still a bit better. Tim p l-bus is my mix bus And that Prime STUDIO solid compressor, zero updates ever but,its still gonna work on mix sources before you Changea thing. Love aa! Don't becomeWAVES!
