when they arrived at New Street in 1986, they couldn't fit under the 'exit' door at New Street. Evidently a fuel pipe was too low. The ended up at initially at Musselburgh and operated regularly on the x29/129 Seton Sands service. And they certainly got you there quickly on the x29 service! And they were decked in 1986 Commonwealth games logos.

Nothing brings out my inner child quite like the distinctive roar of a Leyland Leopard! Literally had a moment where I felt like I was 8 years old sitting in seat 1A on an excursion in the early 80s (always the highlight of my year at that age). One day I will have to get to one of these running days and actually ride on one again. Whilst modern coaches are far smoother, quieter, more comfortable, and more efficient, I have never had the same emotion attached to riding the Leyland Tigers, or Volvo B10Ms that took over from these, or anything else that came after… there’s just something about that sound and hat I suspect every other watcher of this video gets, that most other people would find quite odd! 😂😂
