It's alot less tinny sounding now. Video was 2 days after install. Ya I get your point though. I like the marauder look of it coming out the back though.

Ya the 4.6 is such a small v8 (281ci) that your always gunna get a bit of that trumpet type sound when you are running a very free flowing exhaust. The sound in my video was literally the second day out of the exhaust shop so the super 10s were still breaking in. Also I did not have the correct tune on my car yet. Now that I have the proper tune for all my parts and the super 10s are broken in it sounds alot less like that trumpet type sound. As for if it sounds cool only if YOU think it does. Dont worry about what other people think, for me I can go either way with it. I like it and sometimes I dont.

@@thcscarface1 I totally agree with your last sentence. Such a love-hate relationship lol. I never knew engine displacement had that sort of effect on an exhaust note. I’m hoping some hot rod cams will make me happy with my current setup, but something’s telling me it won’t. I might experiment here soon and do a straight pipe ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but you’re telling me the super 10s aren’t to blame so I’m not sure what to expect. Unfortunately this is just that realm where the only way you know what it’s exactly gonna be like is if you do it yourself. You can try and watch videos, but these cameras just can’t pick up that “in person” effect. It’s kinda like watching a video of an explosion and being like “wow cool oh boy that sounded loud” but in person it’s honestly “HOLY SHIT!” I think I’ll make a video comparing the two once I experiment, but again it won’t be totally accurate to the viewer. Still helpful in other ways though, right?

I got them off of a performance shop on EBAY, I made sure to be 100% they were real "STAINLESS WORKS" pieces of work upon receiving.

All the stock cats and exhaust piping are gone. I just have 2 hi flow cats that came with the long tube header package, they will still set off an engine light for the cats not being as big as the stock ones, so really the high flow cats just act like small resonators. If I were to do it again I would just go with the headers and no cats at all and get a bit of a quieter muffler than the super 10 series

Ya they will make a difference. If you keep the stock tips it will sound more high pitch and raspy with more popping sounds. If you get thicker exhaust tips like say 3inch it will sound deeper and more burbly. So it just depends on what sound you prefer.

No they are designed specifically for the crown vics and other panther platform cars. These are the 03-2011 style. Stainless Works

With stock tune there is CEL and idle rpms are everywhere. So I bought a custom tune from JMSchip for my SCT tuner and now there is no CEL and the car runs great.

@@thcscarface1 how long ago you get the tune? I got headers going in next week and I can't find a tuner to delete downstream o2 sensor or egr.

@@shaunpasses3153 I got the tune like 2+ years ago I think, I'm actually waiting for another tune from JMS right now because they dont sell 93 octane where I live anymore, so getting new tune for 91 octane...... will see if they still keep the CEL off this time round

For me no it's not, but for most people I would guess that yes it would be too loud. The cops have given me a warning for it already as well.🙃

It's not too bad. I have the same setup. Doesn't wake my son up when I leave in the mornings. The Super 10s drone bad though, I had to put glass packs as resonators in front of the mufflers to make it drive-able on highways. When I had straight pipes, it shook the whole house from the garage.

@@Chewpahmiberga all stock catalytics are removed, im just running two hi flow cats that came with my header package, they really are just like small resonators more than cats though.

I got them off ebay to save a couple hundred $$, they are stainless works headers you can get them from their website as well, stainless works and kooks are the only two companies that make headers for these cars. Stainless works is the only one that is a true fit with no modifications having to be made for installation, i stil have like an inch and a half of clearance from my steering shaft, so installation is easy with stainless works headers.

Yeah i cant justify paying 1200-1300 for headers. I think i might save the money and do an engine swap 🤷🏽‍♂️

@@kingnino4836 Right on man! And ya the headers alone were like $2300..... damn exchange rate lol. I got the whole setup installed for like $1000, and i should mention every single bolt snapped on the removal of the stock manifolds! So $1000 was not bad at all.
