What a gem, I am sorry I dont know Gregory Hines RIP, but love Nathan from The Producers, which is how I got here! Both entertaining and such fun, so talented, such a long time ago but quality travels well. Thanks so much, bravo.

In 1990 I was selling sneakers in Paragon Sporting Goods in Manhatten, NYC. Mr. Hines came in with his son, and I sold him a pair of sneakers for his son. He is very short was a very nice man just like any other customer in the store. FYI: I also sold Former Mayor David Dinkins (while he was running for mayor) a pair of Stan Smith tennis sneakers. He was a big-time tennis player.

One of the greatest movie openings! One of my other favorite bits from this picture is when Jack Benny asks the one Nazi if he's heard of Joseph Tura (his character). "Oh yes, I saw him performance once. What he does to Shakespeare, we are now doing to Poland!"

I memorized both parts of this back in 1995, and yet it would still take me about 5 more years to realize I was gay...

So? Gregory Hines was not gay.

To whom it may concern: My great uncle Tom Dugan is playing Bronksy/Adolph Hitler in this film and is in the clip. Would it be possible that you could accredit him in the info? Thank you!

A great movie. This version was the first of two that I know of. Made in 1942 (the year I was made, too ;) ), starring Jack Benny and Carole Lombard, it was hilarious. Mel Brooks remade it in 1983, using pretty much the same script, and starring himself and Ann Bancroft. Well done, and in color, like a lot of remakes, it was better if you hadn't seen the original.

I don't understand the gay comments. It's a little stereotypical. Gregory Hines was not a gay man.

Love, love, love the homage to Faith Prince's portrayal of Miss Adelaide from Guys and Dolls at 3:52 ... a performance Nathan Lane played opposite as Nathan Detroit in the same production. Terrific inclusion to this medley.

Thank you thank you thank you so much for posting this video. Brought back memories and tears. It's so sad that Gregory Hines is no longer with us. This is hands-down my favorite Tony Awards moment ever in my more than 50 years of watching the Tonys. And why was it left off Christopher Isherwood's list of show-stopping Tony moments in today's NYTimes? He must have been in the bathroom during that fabulous 6 minutes!
