Surely there’s a benevolent techie among your film community who can help put the recording to speed. 🙏🏼 hope so. It would be a grande gift. Praying God grants that to you.

Tom and Mark were some of the lucky ones, they had each other and Tom’s family actually gave a damn. During the 80s & 90s too many afflicted with AIDS saw their lives collapse once the disease began to manifest itself, lost their jobs, their homes & livelihoods. Many lost everything, then home became their hospital or hospice bed. No caring lover, no relatives nor friends visited. Then there were those that died alone at home only to be discovered days/ weeks after their demise. The most tragic thing is so many died alone because of ignorance & stigma.

Thanks. The Cinema Gods cooperated as that was the only pitch I filmed. I think I shot less than 20 minutes of video during my whole stay at Hot Docs.

It was unbelievable how the woman mentioned at 54:14 stated that there were no gay people in Utah.There were plenty of them then and even more now.The following is a little off topic and Im only bringing it up because of the woman I mentioned above & the clear case of hypocrisy she spoke. Im not mistaken,isn't Utah kind of the home base for the Mormon church who believes that women can have oral/anal sex & they're still considered a virgin,just as long as its not vajayjay sex?? I learned this during the infamous Jodi Arias case.So apparently there are no gay people and more female virgins than anywhere else in the U.S. in Utah.

It's mortant to talk about life and death. It's important to show this film today in the context of history and just to raise awareness of what those hard times were like. We've come a long way but we have more to go. These two always had a sense of humor. Kudos to Peter Friedman for capturing their essence. Tom and Mark continue to be a part of my life.
@d-word3 ай бұрын
We agree with all of your points. And glad the film had so much impact on you.
@dianegilbert56777 ай бұрын
To the comment that someone made that Tom and Mark didn't want this film to be seen. So far from the truth of who they were and their intentions throughout their lives. I know that they would be thrilled, especially Tom, that people are still discussing this film and their work some 30 years later. Their lives were consequential!
