The mulch looks nice but be sure to pull it away from the trunk of your tree so it doesn't retain water against the tree bark and rot it, thus killing your tree.

Good ideas, I have the same bed idea in my front garden and I'm a fan of conifers, I also use mulch spray to darken the mulch in between topping up. The neighbours always compliment the look even though it's so simple, keep up the good work👍💪

* * * I love love the look of freshly laid mulch too.. beautiful ... Have you heard of MULCH GLUE? you spray it on and it holds the mulch from blowing away, from getting moved from water or weed wackers..Stops weeds from popping through.. Check out some videos about it.. You'll love it!!

@@colleenscottcarmello5103 I have heard of mulch glue! Great idea! The thing with it is does it last? Have you used it??
@colleenscottcarmello5103Күн бұрын
@@TheMorrisMansion Not yet.. I plan to use it on the pea gravel projects. Along the side of the house and pathways... and the edges of my mulched flowerbeds. I binged watched videos when I first heard of it. It seems to last a couple years or more.. One video they showed dragging having things over the pea gravel area a year later without any issues. and they don't have to worry about weed growing in the pea gravel area.. yay right.. I don't mind if I need to reapply it at some point as I'm very excited about it and all the possiblities with it. I mean, we have to reapply mulch every year as it decomposes too right.. I would used this on the whole mulched area tho, as the water will get through to water the flowers.. it blocks weeds after all. Maybe up to a foot in around he edging.. May be a great video and also can check in a year later and add the results. that would be a super helpful video for us gardeners.

nice effort. however, very obvious difference from a pro touch. good practice though. maybe a coat of sealer will help spruce it up. additionally, there are a handful of stamps available for small pads like that under $50, which will provide a better result. as granny says ... if you can live with it with no regret then the savings is worth it. but if another few hundred dollars would make you happier ...

Thank you for the input. You're right. I could have spent more to get more of the look I wanted, but that wasn't in our budget as we have more outdoor projects scheduled. The idea was to take what I had and make it look better than it was on a budget. I think I achieved that :)

@TheMorrisMansion21 күн бұрын
Sure! We used the gravel for drainage and to make the concrete stronger with it and the rebar. The gravel also helped fill in the gaps underneath our wood frame. Hope this helps :)
