Worst villain in DC movie history. Dude wasn’t even talking using his own voice, that was Gene Hackmans voice dubbed over to sound like he was talking. Should have been Bizarro instead. Reeve playing Bizarro fighting himself would have probably still been terrible but a step up from this garbage.

I've seen Superman The Movie close to 150 times. Saw it in the theater 26 times. This was BY FAR the worst movie I've ever seen not only in this series, but EVER.

I saw it opening night in an empty theatre. There was absolutely no interest in this from moviegoers from the time of production till its release. None.

The original Superman film was a classic. Then there are movies that don't have good initial reviews but became classics. And finally there are some movies that are so bad they become cult classics. Then there are scifi and fantasy movies that are cheesy but still fun for nerdy types. Then there is this movie. Absolutely nothing redeemable about it. Worse comic book movie ever made. The purple / pink tunnel facade is the gasworks railway tunnel. You are right that the feeder canal from Burrs to Elton Resevoir runs very very close by, but it does not go through that tunnel.

Whats abkve yku, where you sau the dripping water is a cmassic sign kf an aqueduct .... Is the railway line from the gaswoeks, through that 1892 tunnel over rhe bridge above you and ibtk the area of their sidings

That tunnel connected Elton Gasworks sidings to their sidings. You are right that there's a canal very close by, but not quite where you think.

I commented on your other vid about this then found these other vids. I love this place, it fascinates me. The wheel pit is kind of behind where you’re looking. It’s more as you go back down to the river. P.s. are you filming this on a Nokia 3210?

That’s Burrs. The weir is there to raise the water level and the sluice gates are for the canal feeder channel that used to go into the Manchester, Bolton and Bury canal. There is an aqueduct further down but the water doesn’t go any further than that anymore as far as I can tell. The channel also feeds other stuff through various sluice gates. There is an old water wheel pit that it feeds which still has water running through it, and later there was a steam engine added that it was the head race for. The engine pit is near the river bank if I remember correct but it’s a couple of years since I’ve been. These days the water from those sluice gates just does a loop and feeds back into the river further down stream I believe.

I used to play in that 'feeder ' stream, down at the wood street ens mainly though I scoured all of it, wood Street to ainsworth Road, and beyond, there was a massive landfill in the early 1970s where the main field is now , plenty of nights literally on top of the gasworks tanks., the mystery of time where does it go.

Just around the corner there’s a mechanics garage and I think that was the stables for this, the guy who has it is friendly and will tell you all about the building.

No the other canal that is level is the Lancaster canal
