Hi Tom, I've been fishing Castaic Lagoon every weekend for a month and haven't caught a single fish. I fish from 9am to 12pm and tried many different lures. What am i doing wrong?

Can I ask, for the finesse C-Rig video, do you think a mojo bass rod 6'8" M/XF be good for that slow trolling. Thanks

Yes, you can. But you will go through a lot of baits if you are nose hooking it. If you want to skip the centering pin then I'd recommend t-rigging it instead

Jesus. Striper lake transformation complete I guess huh?
@TomGoesFishin
@TomGoesFishin Жыл бұрын
There was a very successful glass minnow spawn just before they drew the lake down for the dam maintenance. There was always a very big striper spawn that year. Those baby stripers grew up quick with all those glass minnows to feed on. Most of that age group are between 1-2 lbs now and there are a lot of them. That being said, with the lake full again there should be a very successful shad spawn this year. Those young shad tend to stay in the backs of coves where the striper do not spend as much time. This should allow the bass to remain healthy even with the onslaught of young stripers

@@TomGoesFishin I really have to get out there it’s been over a year for me man lol I could barely even recognize where you guys were at first! 😂 I hope the largies can come back to health, but I’m worried haha they still seem super skinny and it seems like the striper of that size are even in the backs of coves too! 🤦🏻‍♂️ Idk guess we will see over the next few years. Maybe the full lake will back em off and give the largies a chance to eat. 🙏🏽

@TomGoesFishin
@TomGoesFishin Жыл бұрын
You can catch lots of fish from the bank...sometimes. Where is the best spot? At the moment the lake is very full so there is not a lot of spots available to fish outside of the dam. I haven't fished the dam in quite some time but it can be very good at times.
