I have been doing all right with this Luffy. I'm wondering why no Jack, is that something I should prepare for if I want this deck to be viable in bt9? I don't want to completely scrap this deck for bt9 because I really like the way it works but I do run for Jack and no stage. Now I'm wondering if maybe that's the play, do what you do and not run. Jack and run stage

Hi @ninomusician thank you for your comment and for watching. You will need the Jacks and eventually I removed all stages in my current list as well. When I posted this video, it was the 1st week after the RP Law and Lobby banning, and the 1st week for OP09 cards so the meta was still not set *and there was a lot of Red Sanji. The week after this vid, I added 4 Jacks because every body was playing Blue Doffy. Then slowly Blue doffy balanced out and Shanks/Purple Luffy/Op09 Black Purple Luffy came into the current picture - so currently I am running only 3 Jacks and no stage. Post OP09, we will be introduced with the Black Purple luffy, which has the same +1 cost effect and some ramp and people are using that more vs this ST14 Luffy - but the 5 life and defensive ability of the ST14 Luffy still keeps me from moving to Black Purple one.

Hi @regretnowdoitlater2936 Thank you for watching. I posted this few days after OP09 was released in Japan when the meta was just adjusting to the RP Law / Enies Lobby bans (and after the ST-15 - 20 starter decks hit the shelves) so the meta was still shaping up. However, currently, I do run 3 Jacks - he is so good and very difficult to remove.

because this deck has so much draw power can we justify more 2 of inclusions than normally? I was thinking 2x 9c Kaido, among other options. There's a purple pudding that gives you back your first don-1 each turn, which could be useful tech maybe, letting you do multiple -1s without dropping hugely behind curve. I was also thinking of the 5c black maria as a don equaliser, for when you do drop too low. Lots of options! 9c cost kaido followed up with a black maria and then a judge next turn would be rather fun to pull off!

Hi @ivanaliagasilva9715 ! Thank you very much for watching and asking. For BY Luffy, do not attack the leader early unless you have your 8 costs on board (no matter how tempting it is). Force them to use their counter cards to take their own life. Reserve your 5 cost Sanji for their 5 cost Luffy (since it can repetitively take their own life). Be patient and try to attack them in one big swing when their are down to 1-2 life. You want to put them in a situation that if they survive, they will have a very small hand. If they combo off with Moria at that point, they should not be able to sustain it for the next turns since you forced them to use the kids as 1K counters. Survive the 9K leader/Moria turn and pray :)

Hi Xmanifest, apologies for the late response. I think he is still necessary (Niji). Although there are some list I saw that ran Yonji (the blocker) instead of Niji but I think Niji is still better overall as a safe choice. Also, good news because Reiju is really nice after the RP Law banning.

Your not using your leader ability to keep defense up. And the one time you did, you were at 6 and and countered when izo was swinging at you with 5k.

One thing Sanji players keep getting wrong is that they think that just because you can rush with any card, that you should, and so they keep landing 5k creatures that will pounce and very likelly be blocked to then be killed right after. Sanji players need to learn that sometimes it's best to set up a field and go wide rather than rushing with everything, or rush with creatures that have enough power to discourage the opponent from going against them (or that aren't as expensive to defend).

Why didn't you deploy Buggy turn 1 to set up your draw for next turn and Doffy effect?

@@jerrygardner320 Usually I drop the buggy or perona to setup leader effect on the 3 don turn. but in the first game I think I only had one 2k counter (buggy) and hoped to draw another counter to try counter the potential 8K attack next turn. (but we didnt draw and still eventually took 2 damage - so it could have made more sense to drop the buggy turn 1 after revisiting the game)

Seems like a mid/late game deck with very little early game support…I’ll assume you’ll be passive until turn 3, when you shine…you’ll be including Shirahoshi…for a Heracles play combo…then Moria etc for ramp.
