@@worthitrepairsbymarkin uk we have 12-14pm separate jigs but 15 series they did adjustable one and never released anything for 16. So was surprised seeing on in the US but you get better access to tools anyways than us.

Thanks for asking! I wish I had a clear answer on this one. Since iOS 18 allows OEM parts to pair with iPhones without showing the screen message, it’d be great if MacBook screens could follow suit but unfortunately, I don’t think Apple has implemented that yet. For the A2442, you need to order the part directly through Apple’s Self-Service program, which is actually a third-party service, not directly run by Apple. I found this out the hard way in my recent video of the A2992 when I realized I’d missed replacing the lid angle sensor that came with the screen. Apple had to remote in to help pair everything, so there’s definitely more involved than just swapping parts. Right now, as far as I know, you’ll still see a screen artifact if you don’t go through their program. However, there might be a workaround: ordering a new lid angle sensor and trying to pair it manually could possibly work, though I can’t guarantee it. If you’re willing to experiment, that might be worth a shot! Please let us know the results I will Pin your comment to the top! The teardown is I think almost Identical to this repair video you just watched.

Re-seat the connector. Check again maybe your battery was bad possibly before the repair. I would give it a day see if it adjusts itself back to normal it would be quite strange maybe if the battery was damaged it could give the error possibly.

@@kryxii depends on the part the part sometimes comes preinstalled some don’t. The adhesive part is important in case it’s dropped so the part doesn’t get shifted. You could use heat instead of alcohol

I’m thinking about adding that to my next video, but it's so time-consuming that it could be a full video on its own. Trying to fit it into a 60-second screen repair would be tough.

Now since IOS 18 update you can get a OEM screen and it won't say the screen message anymore. Which will help but the price will be much more expensive.

Darn, that sounds really frustrating! If you unplug the keyboard and the device turns on, it’s likely the keyboard causing the issue. If not, it’s probably the logic board. Need programmer for true tone to work plus have to transfer IC off old screen to new screen to not have display message. Their for you need soldering tools also not just a scree driver lol😅
