I’m not a huge Goku fan, but this one hurts. Watching the MC get manhandled by the most washed looking enemy is rough. It’s like watching him lose to QUI. :(

Buildup is definitely the way to go, loving the focus on these smaller fights that don’t get talked about as much as the main events

I have to agree with the point deduction for the sensu bean, for the simple reason that Goku refuses a sensu later in the fight against Cell, showing he himself feels theres a difference between eating a sensu post fight and eating a sensu during the fight.

I always just assumed Frieza was just...lying? Like, he probably just said that to get Goku to use most of his energy up early on the fight

The post fight analysis for piccolo actually seems extremely plausible. It makes sense for piccolo to lack composure considering his age, I think he's like 4 years old or something around that?

mfs really act like this is a fight, this is basically a weak kid vs an old man who is paralyzed and is missing all his limbs who used to be a heavyweight champion. (I’m not even biased but Goku clearly was defenseless and not in fighting condition because of the heart virus.)

I love this channel bro! Original and entertaining content in a space that tends to grow stagnant aside from a handful of channels. The fact that you display Christian values in the messages, use direct quotes from the Bible and include scripture at the end of every video. Do the whole series brother! Im watxhing every video!

What’s funny is that the Giantification move would increase your strength, but it would give you more mass than strength. Square cube law: Strength is based on cross sectional area of your bones and muscles (so it’s 2 dimensional and increases by a power of 2) and mass increases with volume (so it increases with cubes). So if Piccolo can make himself like 5 times taller (that’s what it looks like), he’d be 25 times stronger but weigh 125 times more. This explains why he’s so much slower; his strength to weight ratio is 80% worse!

I'd say it would've been a 50/50: if Goku hadn't exerted himself and recharged 19 with that Kamehame, he MAY have been able to last long enough for 19's batteries to run out, but.... What Gero hadn't known at the time, was that Goku himself was losing fast the attrition, too. And, let's be honest: the fact that Goku couldn't tell the state of 19's energy reserves, but could feel something was wrong with himself would've likely still pushed him to a hailmary. The difficulty with grading this is that we KNOW Goku was on his last leg, and that giving 19 energy let the android pressure him into complete loss, but... Given that 19's an android, there's simply no telling how close he actually was to the brink: he'd likely continued to work as normal until he simply stopped. Something I'd like to point out with 19's frame, though... Padding. It's not actually fat: unlike a living person, the android's not necessarily any slower, weaker or prone to growing tired due to poor exercise. We saw that, unlike the infinite energy models, both Gero and 19 simply weren't built for the insane power of a SSJ (which, by Gero's estimations, wasn't needed anyhow). They could, however, punch well above their weight due to absorption and lack of ki signature... Could 19's design be, SPECIFICALLY, so that he's be able to tank through the blows needed to make the absorption nodes pull him the win? We see, after all, that he actually managed to weather hits far better than Gero himself, despite being made of the same tech.

Doing this fight next was absolutely the right call man! I seen the title and got excited, didn't expect Goku vs 19. and now I'm gonna be excited as we build up to the Goku vs Vegeta rematch! Also love the effort put into these, you can tell you playback your finaldraft videos and watch them diligently, because of all the micro text corrections throughout. A+.

While I appreciate the animators and the English dub team for gassing up the theatrics and drama of this fight, it’s impressive how the “manga accurate” fight makes Frieza look even more pathetic. For one, because the manga isn’t bound by an episode quota, the actual fight is a lot shorter and clearly shows that Goku has the advantage. According to the power levels, it only takes about a 25% difference in power to clearly dominate an opponent, with each increase of 25% making it more clear who’s stronger until one fighter is straight up tanking shots unfazed with a 2x strength difference. This means that Goku probably didn’t have 100% of his stamina restored by the initial SSJ transformation until later in the fight, meaning he and Frieza at 100% were briefly even. Also, Goku ain’t waxing poetic anywhere near as much in the manga/sub like he’s Superman or some shit. He fully acknowledges that he’s a selfish fighter and his most “noble” reason for letting Frieza power up is so that there’s no excuses for when Goku inevitably wins. His “I am” speech is far more about him embracing his identity as an Earth-raised Saiyan rather than being a bastion for goodness. This makes Frieza’s “he’s just a monkey” thing even more pathetic because Goku simply embraces that fact to rub it in Frieza’s face. “I can’t be harder to destroy than a planet, right?😈” So when Frieza is just lying on the ground after being given the Anakin high-ground treatment, there’s no more catharsis in beating him since Goku doesn’t see himself as righteous enough to even see any satisfaction in beating him. Goku actually feels bad for Frieza by the time he blasts him away because the fight not only wasn’t as satisfying as he thought it’d be, but Frieza proves himself as the first truly irredeemable villain Goku has faced in the most petty way possible. This kind of shit is why he doesn’t fuck around with Cell in the slightest, only giving him a senzu bean to pressure Gohan into transforming (a plan that backfires horribly. RIP the GOAT 16).

Is goku the best at delivering devastating body blows? I personally think its gohan. Enraged gohan worked final form frieza gut pretty good considering the power difference it was impressive. He kills half the cell jrs with body blows making them explode. He pretty much won the fight against cell with a punch to the gut followed by an uppercut. Not to mention he punched a hole straight through Bojack abdomen.
