Hear me out. The 2 jugs were filled with starch, right? That made them heavy. And they're both broken at the handle in almost the same way. I propose both jugs were hooked by the handle to a bar or smth and used to make a makeshift weight like in the literary masterpiece "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" and it got dropped on Arei's neck, killing her. Case closed. You can have Arturo disfigured now.

Ooo great video! It’s been awhile since I’ve seen ch.2, but this theory checks out for me in making sense. Oh and for fun, I remember I wrote back awhile in a discord about who I think the killer is. So imma post it here if anyone wants to read it or have discussions about it before this Friday when the episode airs: “Now I need to think over this more and review some evidence. BUT someone mentioned in the comments that the starch ball Charles found formed because of the mist from the relaxation room. Also, who said they were in the laundry room? Levi. Not to mention while I was off track of keep thinking David was the killer(which my David bias definitely didn’t help), I was a bit confused on “Wait…I get Arei technically knew his secret and that’s why he would probably kill her for it, but it was Whit who had the secret and that Arei found out from by looking over. Wouldn’t he targeted Whit as he could’ve assume Arei was lying that she glance over and that maybe Whit shared the secret to her?” Then it hit me, the murderer would want to go after Arei because of her secret right? She had the “You are a murder and you hold no remorse”. And Levi had hers. Perhaps Levi wasn’t planning on killing her at first due to her not revealing his and him technically having hers as blackmail. *But she already revealed hers to David and Teruko* , this makes his blackmail pointless. So what does he do to hide his past he’s trying to change from? Murders Arei.” Ultimately I’m still going with this prediction and if your AM theory is true, then I can see a good route how Levi was able to do this.

@unodos26472 ай бұрын
u/Difficult-Parfait627 had a really interesting theory on the fanganronpa subreddit, so I thought I should share it here to see what you all thought. I just changed the formatting. J. Here’s why: one, I think the killer is someone with a supposed alibi. I think the killer made the note to give themselves an alibi, and made everyone think the murder happened at 7 PM (more proof is the fish. If the killer got the fish and placed them there, it’d make people think the crime was committed at 7 PM. But the killer could’ve gotten them earlier and just placed them there at 7 AM the next day. I don’t know any other reason as to why the fish would be there, because even if Arei was drowned or something, the fish wouldn’t stick to her.) that doesn’t single out J, but that does put her on the suspect list. Second point: how I think the murder happened. I think the killer tied the rope from the ceiling, then tied the rope around Arei’s neck while was on the merry-go round, and spun it to spin her up, then tied her legs to it to make it go back down. That way, from the fall from the ceiling, would break her neck. The cast established that the swingset woudlnt be tall enough to break her neck. What’s taller than the swingset? Well; the ceiling. More proof is that the ceiling was messed up a bit. Cool story, right? But you’re probably wondering how that implicates J. Well, J is an effects artist, and has experience setting up stage plays likely. A lot of work in those is to do with tying things to the top of the stage, and maneuvering them with ropes and other such tools. Similar to what I said, right? Point number three, the lights. What’s J’s custom weapon again? Point number 4; the fact that J could’ve easily overheard the convo between Eden and Arturo. Think about it. Eden clearly didn’t write him a note, so she had to go up to him in person. Arturo was stalking J. Meaning Eden would’ve had to of gone up to Arturo while J was right there. So she’d know when and where they were meeting. Also, she’s let slip about the fact that she knows he has a sister. The note mentioned his sister. So it’s incredibly likely that J couldve used that knowledge to lure out Arei. J was in the best position to overhear Arturo and Eden talk. No one would’ve been with her, and she heard them talk about meeting up. Point number 5: the tape. Now, let’s discuss the tape. The tape disappeared from the gym AS SOON as Ace bolted up, not a moment sooner, not a moment later. Once Ace was up, even before Eden tried to get up, it was already out of the gym, no where to be seen. I think Ace likely kicked it out of the gym. The door was already open, so it’s not impossible. And he was directly in front of the door. Now, recall: who was the first to go to the gym in the morning? J. Meaning J had a prime opportunity to get the tape. Even if she didn’t get it then. It’s still suspicious that she was trying to get into the gym, you know, the place where the tape was, and you know, a key part of the crime. Point number 6: Arei’s missing glove. Now, if you payed close attention, Arei’s glove wasn’t on her hand. Meaning the killer likely took it for some reason. And why else would you take a glove than to wear it yourself? Now, there’s two criteria you’d need to meet for this to be suspicious. One, you’d need to be similar in size to Arei. Two, you would have to lack gloves. Arei and J are the same height, similar weight, and J lacks gloves. So now you’re wondering, even if J took the glove, where would it be? Well recall where J said she’d look when trying to find Arei. Arei’s room. J could’ve simply hidden Arei’s glove in her room. And now, point number 7: a very suspicious comment J made. In ep.10, near the beginning, J says something along the lines up “The note you tore up and threw in the trash”. Not very suspicious, right? Wrong. No one ever mentioned the note being thrown in the trash. Teruko only said “the note I tasked you to reconstruct.” Maybe J just saw Rose tip over the trash can? Wrong. J was on guard duty, she couldn’t have left the crime scene and seen Rose tip over the trash can. Of course, there’s some plausible deniability, but I think this is a very strange comment. All the evidence lines up against J. Now, her motive you’re probably wondering. Her secret was already revealed, so why would she kill? Well, recall in chapter 1, where the motive had no part in the killing. MonoTV is rather incompetent, the series makes you know that. So I have a theory that the running theme of this series is that the motives will factor in very little into the killings. Cool, but what would J’s motive be then? Well, it seems like she’s having to relive a life she wanted to get away from. All eyes are on her, marveling, and downplaying the hell she’s went through and tried so desperately to escape from. So, what’s her only escape from it again? Murder. You’re probably asking then why not just kill Arturo? Well killing Arturo would be suicide, she’d be the most obvious suspect. Plus, killing Arei allows her to frame two people off the bat, Eden and Arturo. Killing Arei is simply the most logical thing to do, a win-win. I hope I’ve detailed why I think J is rather suspicious, and maybe even convinced you.
@othergrimm6592Ай бұрын
I hope not. I like J. Also, her having an alibi for the morning hopefully disproves that theory.
@lostmemory1142Ай бұрын
@@othergrimm6592 not necessarily, she could have done it while feigning an alibi. Step 1. Lure Arie out with the note. Step 2. Enter a crowded location before the specified time to create the illusion of an alibi. Step 3. At some point quickly duck out to meet up with Arie. Step 4. Knock her unconscious by any means. Step 5. Apply the tape to her mouth and hang the noose over her neck. Step 6. Use some sort of improved automatic pulley system to choke her out. Step 7. Return to your previous location to further establish an alibi.

I feel like the jugs were used as weights for the rope. Not only were the jugs broken but both jugs were broken by the handle meaning something was tied around them, the weight of the jugs filled with fish and water were hanging by the rope until the weight caused them to break and spill all over the floor. Maybe Arei was tied to the rope and bound. The jugs breaking might have been intentional and acted like a time. With no weight on the rope then Arei would get dragged up and he neck would break from the impact of hitting the swings. The extra time you mentioned would be for the killer to remove the tape from Arei’s wrists and dump the broke jugs and extra rope.
@connorjennings65422 ай бұрын
I don't think the jugs held water, but they most likely held the starch because starch is heavier than water. Arei, being killed at 7:30am, gives time for the jugs to break after a certain period of time from holding the rope in some way. The killer then tried to clean it up with the clothes, but maybe they couldn't get everything so they dumped the water at the scene. That last part is a big guess, though.

Idk, I feel like the culprit will be one of the people who had an alibi for 7:30pm. Simply for narrative reasons. Cause when the cast realizes that the murder probably happened around 7:30am, everyone will panic because now nobody has an actual alibi and they pretty much wasted all of their time talking about completely irrelevant alibis. So wouldn't this twist kinda lose its impact when it turns out that culprit is someone who didn't have an alibi anyway? "Okay we talked about our alibis, so the culprit is one of the few people that were unaccounted for. BUT OH NO! AREI DIED AT A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT TIME! NOW EVERYBODY IS A SUSPECT AGAIN! Oh wait, nevermind, the culprit is someone that we already suspected anyway. Lucky us!" So I think the culprit will be one of the following people: Eden, Hu, Arturo, J, Veronika, Whit or Charles

@snakesareamazing2 ай бұрын
@megarotom1590 Well Charles is most likely the one that brings it up next episode. And are you saying that someone without an alibi could purposefully make the people with an alibi look more suspicious....by making the others think the culprit tried to trick everyone into thinking that the crime happened at 7:30pm, which would lead to everyone believing the culprit must be someone with an alibi? Even tho that's not the case? That sounds pretty confusing tbh. And it would mean the culprit would have to rely on the cast realizing that Arei wasn't actually killed at 7:30pm. Which is an incredibly risky move, especially with this cast, who constantly jumps to conclusions without thinking it through

I rally think that him trying to manufacture a murder atmosphere is a lie. The students were blaming David for the situation, but the only thing he could really be blamed for is Arturo's attempt on Eden. Every other event had next to nothing to do with David. David had no control over Ace being a dick and antagonizing Nico, and Arturo revealed J's secret before David had the idea. While it is possible that David manipulated Hu into aiding Nico, it is also possible that the Students are blaming their own misgivings on David, and he decided to play the bad guy. David does often say, "Is that what you wanted to hear?", or "Does hearing that make you happy?" It's also worth noting that the 2nd chapter motive is a doctered version of V3's motive, where everone's motive was swapped. The original plan was to not swap motives, but Ryoma decides against it, as does Kokichi, someone who acts like a villain.

I admit I didn't suspect Pocket as much as I should have. He, Yaxi, and Grisp seem to be the most athletic ones in the group so any of them would probably be able to knock someone out bare-handed. @lucc18008 ай бұрын
really interesting video, everything you said is definetly a possibility. I do think that David thought that his secret was something different, dealing with his depression. Him finding out that his secret was worded like that probably made him snap, because it just adds to how he thinks himself to "survive" so it is projecting the worst of what he thinks of himself. It lowers his perception of himself even more. I don't think he is entirely evil. I think he genuinely connected with Arei. And yeah the fact that Ace might have lied makes sense. All this is making me think Ace might have did it, like yeah he could have lied just because he is a jerk lmao but its still really suspicious because hes making it look like David did it without that information if what you said about David confessing his true feelings to Arei is true. I think Arei not accepting him is very possible. His behavior really shows that possibility. And I definitely think davids words are a projection of himself, he has a very low opinion on himself so it is very possible he would think of things like that. And Arei definetly would have it in her to say something like that to David. The rope idea is really terrible but very possible. David would hide his attempt from the class. Oh and when Charles said at the end of the last episode that him and teruko messed up, I think thats referring to when they sent David to the relaxation room, because that caused him to encounter Arei and have that conversation, or something to do with the hole in the wall in the computer room, I think that will be a big part in the case.
