Crazy how you don’t see IU getting it done but see Purdue getting it done when they only have 2 players averaging 10PPG they loose Edey which is arguably the greatest college basketball player ever. They loose Mason Gillis who player a lot of minutes and was a veteran leader and loose another Gaurd starter in lance jones. And who do they replace them with… freshman that none of them ranked in the top 55. All of this is based off projections and hope that the other players will just happen to be better

24:00. Replace everything you said about Furst with Daniel Jacobsen. Yes, Furst is a veteran with talent, but he fell way down the bench last year. If he can return to form and provide solid minutes, that would be great, but the freshman shot blocker is going to get the first minutes off the bench this year.

As a Memphis fan The AAC is ass we as fans hate it here. Its why the attendance is down 10,000 a game in basketball and 20,000 in football. No UCONN,SMU,CINCINNATI, HOUSTON,UCF LOUISVILLE, Rutgers. We could care less about this shotgun confrence. This is terrible. Im at a point of turning in my fan card and i been a fan for 40 years. GET US OUT NOW!

You and us fans are are being used by ESPN and Fox and their consulting businesses steering you to your stance on your conference . They the power doesn't want the PAC12 existing because it takes future revenue away from your conference. The proposal to the Memphis group was an in the public low ball offer, I think used by the PAC12 to strong arm some Mountain West schools.

The argument regarding the 4 AAC schools not being interested in the PAC 12 because of not knowing the TV media deal is just plain ole stupid. How can the media partners make a deal with a conference that don't know what teams will be part of said conference? I'm sure the PAC 12 Commish has asked potential TV partners if we add certain schools what could they potentially get money wise and that info has been presented to targeted schools. So just because fans don't know what the TV media deal would be for the new PAC doesn't mean the school targeted don't know.

Trying to expand all the way to USF made no sense.i think Memphis, UTSA and Tulane made sense but without a network deal it was too big of a risk. The money has to be right because of the travel. PAC 12 needs to add UNLV and AFA since the MWC is a weaker brand without BSU and SDSU. I would also add Gonzaga since that would help with basketball.

I am confident Stevie Mitchell will not be the main ball handler . His is out there to play defense and be a glue guy on offense. Just isn’t skilled enough on offense to need the ball in his hands much. Chase Ross is more likely to initiate the offense from the starting lineup. Off the bench it should be Norman and Owens

ISU will be extra salty this year. TJ will make sure this team chews glass by November. Adding good shooters from the portal and high school recruits is going to make this team really tough to match up with. The new posts are all solid and better offensive options than last year too.

This is a flawed roster for UNC and will require a stellar coaching job by Hubert Davis to navigate. Four non conference losses are not a stretch. Kansas and Alabama are likely the top two teams in the country and are well manned in the frontcourt and backcourt. To project a Maui championship is naive with Connecticut, Iowa State and Auburn in the field. And both Florida and UCLA will be ranked. The transfer portal misses at the five mirror Duke’s last offseason, and so will the results. Duke will sweep the Heels. Carolina gets into the NCAAs with a 3 or a 4 seed. They’re just not elite this season.
@rileydavis8672

I'm with you on the flawed roster, tried to communicate that with talking about uncertainties in the frontcourt. Think they have a legit shot at winning Maui though. UConn's talent level is nowhere near where it's been. Iowa State goes through scoring droughts which makes them susceptible in single elimination tournaments. I'm pretty high on Auburn, but they have uncertainty in their backcourt between an up-transfer (Pegues) and Tahaad Pettiford competing to start at the 1.

@@rileydavis8672 Maui is the most interesting MTE this season because of what it’ll teach us about the teams. UConn’s perception is greater than its roster. I actually think Auburn is the best team in the field with Iowa State closely behind. The Cyclones have loads of experience and continuity. UNC will face one of them in their second matchup. Memphis is sneaky good. Michigan State is still Michigan State. And Dayton is not a pushover. It should be fun and informative!

If they're smart they'll add some non -football schools like Gonzaga, Saint Mary's, Santa Clara and Pepperdine or Pacific. That should give them some Basketball revenue and make it attractive to CBS, TURNER, and NBCUNIVERSAL. Maybe even Fox will throw a little pocket change their way. Travel costs wouldn't eat up the revenue as much overall since the core travel would be a short bus ride or cheap flights, close for families to travel. Football....great for the smaller programs....🤔🫣😔😵‍💫

I love the Pac. I grew up with the Pac 10, watched it grow to the Pac 12 and wished we could have gotten Texas and OK at the time. Watching the Pac die after being plundered by the Big Ten and the Big 12 after thinking they were worth more than what the market would bear. I am really happy to see the Pac survive, even if it's Pac State. So yes, I'm a definite Pac homer and I believe in the best that they can get. They will never be a power conference, not in 5 years, not in 50 years. That is never coming back. Let it go.

The commentary about the teams not having a “power conference status” is not accurate. SDSU by far has been the best basketball program in the state of California. In football, SDSU has been successful against Power Conference programs over the past decade. Academically, SDSU is ranked on a high level. Maybe it was not your intention to downplay SDSU about “stepping up their game” but SDSU has been consistently stepping up their game. Even with limited resources they have exceeded expectations they have top notch facilities. Boise State has a better football pedigree but they also have a very competitive basketball program. SDSU has the television market, academics and facilities that meet or exceed many current power conference schools.

The pac made the right choice with these four schools. There's more number like market and attendance that support teams like Fresno and Boise over Memphis and Tulane but even on the field results skew towards them. The only other g5 that stacks up to Boise and Fresno is Air Force with a decent media market too. UNLV and UTSA are both programs on the rise with huge media markets and recuiting pools too. In a what have you done for me lately type of way Tulane and Memphis should definitely be tha pac 12s top priotities along with UNLV, UTSA, and Air Force. Conference titles since 2000 years: Boise: 13 Fresno:4 Tulane: 1 Memphis: 2 Winning seasons since 2000: Boise: 24 Fresno: 17 Tulane: 6 Memphis: 11 10+ Seasons since 2000 Boise: 17 Fresno: 6 Tulane: 2 Memphis: 4 Bowl wins since 2000 Boise: 12 Fresno: 9 Tulane: 4 Memphis: 6 Szns where each team made the top 25 since 2000: Boise: 19 Fresno: 10 Tulane: 2 Memphis: 6 All time conf. Championships Fresno: 29 Boise: 21 Tulane: 10 Memphis: 8

I think the next best choices from the current g5 are: UNLV and Air Force. They make sense and are in a weakened MW. If they join go after UTSA since they're not recieving their full media share from the AAC yet. Assuming UTSA leaves invite Tulane and Memphis and one more texas school. Probably Texas State or Rice. I know this new pac may not care as much about academics but with that UTSA and ut health merger it is a huge bonus in perception. Only reason why Rice would be added as well as recruiting. By

The MW was playing hardball in negotiations about scheduling, and/or any kind of future merger, this is a power move that gives the Pac massive negotiating power. It sounds like they may be continuing negotiations with the MW about possible other options here (where the MW has a lot less say). If UNLV and Air force leave in addition, It may be hard for the MW to survive, and they know it.
