Sorry, just to be clear.. You paid $710cad for both your orders right? How much was custom/duty fees to get back each submission? Sorry just trying to understand. I always send to my brothers house in the u.s and make him ship it to me. I would love to just get my submissions straight back to Canada :)
@hockeycardsincanada7 күн бұрын
@clockerzapparel3399 Hi! On my $710 CAD payment to PSA ($520 USD), you calculate the custom/duty fees by the GST and PST. I'm in Vancouver, BC so the cost for me is 12% - or roughly $85.20. You'll get taxed based on the grading fees that PSA charges you, not on the value of the cards. The example in the video around 6:34 mark, is from an order that I paid PSA $150 USD. And once you calculate the PST/GST it comes to $24.50. Hope that helps! Good luck with your next submission! 😃☘🚀🔥

Do you think spending $1000 Canadian on a Bedard PSA 10 is a good idea?
@hockeycardsincanada13 күн бұрын
@stevenlapierre1742 Interesting question! 🤔Currently, looking at eBay recent sales, it looks like a PSA 10 sells for slightly more than $1K CAD ($1,100-$1,200 ish + taxes and shipping). I always say collect what you like, so if prices dip, it's much easier to stomach. 😎👍If you've gotta money to burn and it's not a big loss to you if Bedard got injured next year and missed a bunch of games and the PSA 10 price drops and you're ok - I'd say go for it! 😃🍿☘🔥🚀💰 BUT, $1K is a lot of money to spend, especially on a single hockey card, so be mindful of that too. 💪Also, it is usually a lot cheaper to just buy the single card AND already graded, than to rip a bunch of blaster and hobby boxes... hoping to pull the Bedard... and then if you get lucky... rolling the dice with hoping to get a PSA 10! ☘❓❔💰🍿 Anyways, just my two cents, but all of this value-based thinking is what makes this hobby a lot of fun!!! 😃❤☘ Good luck!!!

@hockeycardsincanada15 күн бұрын
@bored2323 Great points! But I'm giving the vendor the benefit of the doubt (for now)... I feel like this is more a story of careless operations and maybe just being super cheap on security. From what I hear, the vendor has a solid reputation in the hobby. But I wasn't born yesterday! 😎 and we have no idea what the vendor's personal financial situation is either that might bring him to a place where he'd consider risking his rep. @hockeycardsincanada13 күн бұрын
@bltvd Fair point for sure! 😃I'm basing my early thoughts on hearing that the vendor has a solid reputation in the hobby - but just based on stuff I've read online. I've never dealt with the guy or heard of him before this story. But more on the basis that if this was an insurance scam, it would've (should've) been executed a lot better. Not on camera, not with a bunch of guys in on the theft who should be easily identified. Too many people to pay off. A $2M scam "should" be done with a lot less loose ends. Way too many clues left for these clowns not to get caught eventually. 🤡 But I'm absolutely open to being wrong!😃👍AND maybe this is just a dumb desperate vendor who must be bad financial spot! Thanks! I appreciate the thoughtful comment! 😎💪

@hockeycardsincanada18 күн бұрын
@ijksmom99 If it says printed by Topps on the back of the card, I'd say there was an error in the grading process and it's actually just a Topps card. If it's OPC, it would have French and English on the back. I would contact the seller and see if you can get a refund. If you purchased from eBay or one of the main auction websites, get them involved too. Also double check the serial number with what's on the PSA website because it might not be a legit PSA case. But very odd to find a Topps card inside a PSA case marked OPC. Hope this helps a bit. Good luck and feel free to update me.

If Ovechkin breaks his record this will most likely be among the most collected non rookie base cards. There is a rainbow parallel that is pretty pricey that is shiney numbered to 100. But for that price and pop I think it's a safe investment.
