I watch these videos because it makes me glad my husband and I eloped. I don't recall attending any wedding with guests requesting special diet food. The wedding was about the bride and groom, not the food.

She’s sure to parade around and make people look at her regardless of what she wears. Anyone who knows her will just roll their eyes and ignore her. Everyone else will be saying “What’s wrong with her?”. (Some people won’t even notice.) In the end, who cares. Let her make a fool of herself. There are bound to be other people there who do something silly or stupid. Those are the “Let me tell you about MY wedding” stories.

As long as the groom and soon to be husband is not a 'mama's boy' then whatever the MIL does, says or wears, doesn't matter.

One of my friends had a very narcissistic mother, although no one recognized it at the time. My friend's wedding dress had a train, and the mother insisted that her dress have one, also. The thing is, I absolutely never noticed at the time, and have no memory of the dress at all. Truthfully, although I've been to a lot of weddings, I only remember what any member of the bridal party wore in maybe 5 and three of those were my sister's and my own weddings! So, in a short while, only those who look at the pictures will remember, and will wonder what the woman was thinking to do that.🤣

It's an excuse to not attend her grand-daughter's Lesbian wedding. I'm the grandmother's age and I can see right through her. I can't handle the heat either but would be willing to attend my grand-daughter's wedding (whoever she marries) with lots of fans, mist sprays, and under a big umbrella. Or at the venue but indoors, watching livestream. 'Why is this generation so dismissive of the elderly' gave her away, she doesn't approve of her grand-daughter's wedding. So, it's better these grandparents don't attend their grand-daughter's wedding so the rest of the family and her friends can celebrate their wedding, with happiness and well wishes.

The bride did this to herself by listening to a podcast and taking it for something commonly known about and practiced. The groom should get an annulment if, several days later, she's still blaming other people for her lack of discretion and common sense - not to mention that shear idiocy. She needs to grow up a bit and re-evaluate her life.

In the US, and I think in parts of western Europe, as well, a red dress was the defining costume of a "lady of the night" or "streetwalker," a street pr*st*t*te. I could easily see this extending into the idea that a woman who wore red to a wedding is making a subtle or not-so-subtle announcement that she slept with the groom. For those who had trouble finding the previous video, as I did, here's a link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aaPdnXVvdpZsZtU . The red dress story comes near the end.

In previous video, the bride accused her new husband of having slept with one of the female wedding guests. Her evidence? The guest happened to be wearing a red dress, which according to some old wives’ old tale, meant that the groom had slept with her prior to the wedding. It turned out that the guest not only was the groom’s cousin (whom the bride was presumably meeting for the first time), she also was a newlywed who was expecting a baby with her husband. BTW, am I the only one just learning about this particular superstition for the first time? ISTR that the Victorians considered it for unlucky for the BRIDE to wear a red dress (obviously, this was only applied to Western countries); but I’ve never heard of any negative associations with a wedding GUEST wearing one. Is it specific to a particular culture?

@@maryanntoner4520 I'm American and I haven't heard of it. I do know that much older folks (silent gen+) will get very upset about black & white weddings because they think it's bad luck for the bride to wear black, but that was a very common wedding dress color back in the 1800's because it doubled as a mourning dress and there were plenty of funerals to go to. Saved them money in the long run.
@maryanntoner4520

@@m0L3ify My understanding was that, prior to Queen Victoria popularizing white for wedding dresses, most brides got married in whatever was their best dress, regardless of the color. (Though I’m sure many 19th century brides chose a black dress for the reasons you mentioned.) By the late 19th century, however, there was a rhyme that circulated in the US that warned brides against getting married in pretty much any color except white and possibly blue: marry in black, “you’ll wish yourself back”, marry in red, “you’ll wish yourself dead.” ISTR Ma Ingalls quoted it to Laura when she announced that she was going to marry Almanzo in her black dress. 😉

Wearing red depends on the culture, as it's worn in Russian or Chinese weddings, but other cultures frown on it as it "outshines" the bride. Darker shades of red like burgundy are acceptable. The "because you slept with the groom"...it was a thing ins some cultures a long, long time ago, but no longer means that. So if the bride thought that because of something she red on the internet without verifying it, they do have deeper issues like the groom said...mainly her issues. Obviously not ready for marriage, so I suggest counseling.

Retail shows you one forum for behavior. Food service is a different Karen McAsshat. Events give you yet a third way for Karens and Narcissists to ruin your day. Same type of people do basically the same things, but they get to express themselves differently. I hope she feels better after that rant. She would definitely go on a "Do Not Serve" list for that bs.
