Hi, after my first step with XC-2, can I continue directly with D-A Fine? And no longer use D-A Coarse, because XC-2 removes more defaults. (I'm talking about automotive paint.) Thank you very much for your response. Steve
@RUPES
@RUPES Күн бұрын
Potentially yes! RUPES always recommends performing a test spot to determine the best combination for the desired results but there is a good chance that a second step with DA Fine and a Yellow wool pad or Yellow Foam Pad can remove any haze that the previous step with XC-2 may have left behind. Your test spot may have or will determine if you are working hard or soft paint and will lead you to the optimal second step combination.

Nice video! Taking away the wet sanding is great. How about finishing with Uno Advanced and a yellow or white pad for the protection? Or is Uno Advanced not as protective on plastics as it is on paint?

I find blowing out my pad with a Tornador after every section helps lengthen the life cos the pad is always cooled off before the heat damages the adhesives that keeps the pad together

So there’s no airflow through the pad from the now flat backing plate, and you’ve still got the system in place that boils the pad due to the backing plate friction?
@RUPES
@RUPES 11 күн бұрын
The Mark V features a shroud with holes for airflow, but its backing plate is designed without polyurethane, which means it generates less heat overall. Unlike the Mark III, which required holes in the backing plate for heat management, the Mark V's design minimizes heat buildup, reducing the risk of overheating the pad. This means you can enjoy a more efficient polishing experience with less friction and heat.

Looks good, any improvement in terms of stalling, over the MK III? Was there never a MK IV?
@RUPES
@RUPES 11 күн бұрын
The new features of the Mark V, including the PrecisionPro backing plate, advanced POLYSYNTHEC gear set, updated eccentric set, anti-spin shroud, and enhanced motor and electronics, all contribute to improved pad rotation and reduced stalling. While the Mark III has been a solid performer, these upgrades in the Mark V take the experience to a new level, providing better control and efficiency during use. We're excited for you to see the difference! Also, in Italy and other countries the number 4 is considered an unlucky number, so it was determined to go straight to 5.

Hi, between the mark v and the new cordless 15”m which ones is quieter and lighter?
@RUPES
@RUPES 11 күн бұрын
Generally, there isn’t a significant difference in weight between the two, but both tools are built to reduce noise. Ultimately, either option could suit your needs well! Whether you choose corded or cordless, both are excellent choices-it really comes down to your preference!

Hello everyone, this speaker is Silvio Brass Catanduva Brasil, working with automotive polishing since 1993. I'm a professional polisher, I mean, I do everything with all products here in Brazil. , woohoo, Go Corinthians!!! It's not really an impressive thing, it looks like it has some kind of alien technology, that's right, your Guido Valentine, may God bless you writing your name in the book of life, it would be surreal to win such a piece of jewelry. I'm talking now to the people who run the private Rupes group, thank you for the opportunity to participate and for having a unique opportunity to absorb some simply incredible learning. Thank you very much, I created this sentence: Rupes together with you, reaching the orbit of perfection

@RUPES

The version you have seen in the wild in other countries was being tested in different markets. There is only one Mark V. While that tool had the Mark V icon on the back, it was not the mass production Mark V available today.

Is the new pad holder backward compatible with the older machines?
@RUPES
@RUPES 12 күн бұрын
No, they are NOT cross-compatible. Not only are they physically unable to engage with the Mark III, but the counterweight assembly and balancing engineered into the tool rely on their specific backing plates, and using them interchangeably could compromise support and vibration management. However, Mark V backing plates are compatible with the HLR tools.

Pretty exiting stuff, but how much more torque / power does it actually have? Lowering the center of gravity and make the backing plate lighter is a crucial element of improvement! What material is the backing plate made of? Is a "washer" mod still needed to improve the user experience? :) Love my Mark II and III LHR21! Looking forward to test out the diffrence in real life...
@RUPES
@RUPES 13 күн бұрын
Thank you for your support of RUPES! We’re excited to hear you love your Mark II and III! We can’t wait for you to experience the difference in real life! To answer your question, the RPMs are the same between the Mark III and Mark V. Also, the backing plate is not made from polyurethane; it features a new design for improved performance. Regarding the "washer" mod, RUPES has never recommended it, as it can negatively affect the balance of the tool and impact performance.

Best pad for uno protect?
@RUPES
@RUPES 11 күн бұрын
We always recommend doing a test spot, even with UNO Protect. It's versatile enough to be used as a one-step product or as a second step after compounding. For a one-step approach, we usually suggest a yellow DA pad, while for a second step, a white foam pad with quick arm movements works well. Hopefully, this helps!
