Any benefit to using water with the rupes yellow foam pad? And can the pad be used when its still slightly damp after cleaning and then spinning it on the machine at full speed, or is it best used completely dry?

What can we do with the dust of the compound ? Your course compound has too much dust during polishing.
@RUPES
@RUPES 4 күн бұрын
Thanks for your comment! If you're experiencing excess dust with the compound, it's likely that the product is being overworked, meaning the cycle time is too long. Try adjusting your technique to ensure you're not working the product for too long. Additionally, make sure to close the cap tightly when not in use to prevent the compound from drying out or "off-gassing" in the bottle, which can affect its performance.

@RUPES yes you are right. I polish a section of car (For example 6 pad size). After that I'm going to the next section and last compounds amount on pad will be dust and if I clean the pad for each section, I lose time and a lot of polish compound.

If you dampen the pad before small amount of product is applied and clean the pad in slightly soapy water and spin out on your machine after every panel you will only need one pad to do the whole vehicle. I know this goes against sales of pads and product but better to be honest with customers

I have a LHR15 mark III Bigfoot and having really bad stalling issues. I’ve been polishing paint for about 5 years, so definitely have some experience and know how to mitigate pad stall. The machine seemed to work great when i first got it, the speed dial broke so i sent it in for warranty repair. Before i sent it in, and even after repair the machine almost always stalls. I have made sure the shroud is lubricated. No matter if i am on a flat panel, using Rupes pads, it stalls 90% of the time. Your DA Coarse microfiber pad seems to stall the least. I really dont want to buy a different machine, but i dont know what to do with it anymore!

It's definitely worth reaching out to the repair team again to see if they can determine what’s causing this issue. There is an additional 3 month warranty on all tools that have gone through a repair service.

Fan of Rupes. Just got the Mark V and it’s really smooth. The polishes still need a little work though. They tend to dust a lot based on my experience. Even when you keep a short cycle time. I prefer the straight edge AMMO waffle pad and polish. Zero dust to breathe in and the straight edge really gets around the curves of a vehicle.

Hi, after my first step with XC-2, can I continue directly with D-A Fine? And no longer use D-A Coarse, because XC-2 removes more defaults. (I'm talking about automotive paint.) Thank you very much for your response. Steve
@RUPES
@RUPES Ай бұрын
Potentially yes! RUPES always recommends performing a test spot to determine the best combination for the desired results but there is a good chance that a second step with DA Fine and a Yellow wool pad or Yellow Foam Pad can remove any haze that the previous step with XC-2 may have left behind. Your test spot may have or will determine if you are working hard or soft paint and will lead you to the optimal second step combination.
