I started watching Doctor Who with Eleven. So season 5 is what I started with, after seeing or being shown the Sally Sparrow/Weeping Angels episode. I watched simultaneously: season 1 and season 5 [which was ending or had just ended at the moment]. So my first real Doctor is Eleven, who became my favorite. But my friend who introduced me to The Doctor loooooooved Ten [and hates Rose]. My favorite became Nine and I had a hard time choosing between Eleven and Nine and firmly believed that I would change my mind once I reached Ten. When Ten came however, I didn't like him one bit. From that first episode on when he says "No second chances" I had a hard time accepting him. And he is 'the FACE' of The Doctor worldwide. I could never warm up to him, but it turns out that I like Donna. So when Donna's season came around I kinda liked him and that episode with the flying bus is one of my favorites, so that one helped too. But I dislike that whole waters of Mars episode, because in that one all the things I dislike about him show. Anyway, BECAUSE of David Tennant's Ten I hated David Tennant. Always thought he was as arrogant as his Doctor. It took YEARS [ during Jodie's doctor] and after having seen Good Omens when I suddenly flipped from accepting that the Tenth Doctor was just bitter over losing Rose and losing others [Even Mickey and co] and that's why he was so arrogant [so lukewarm about Tennant. Not sure why he was so great in Good Omens] to that full blown love my friend/ex has for David. I could finally see David without seeing The Doctor first. I'm not British and I was introduced to the Doctor a bit "late", so I don't tell anyone this. You're literally the first person (people?) I've told. I loved grumpy Twelve first and more, before I ever really liked Ten. As is tradition: I started to love Twelve when he was about to leave. Same with Jodie. I ALWAYS loved Eleven [My Doctor] and Nine is my second favorite, but for the longest time he was my fav. Ten NEVER became my fave, unless he was coupled with Donna Noble or that chicky from the flying bus. YOUR theory makes LOTS OF SENSE TO ME. But you're right: even I don't like it. It's just so sad. He stole the Doctor's life and made him "evil". But it does explain ELEVEN's unusual kindness.
