Pecatonica sells these in kit form. You can get parts there too. These were sold by Hopkins and Allen back the the 70s. The 1975 Shooters Bible showed six different models. The modern ones use hex screws to hold the barrel on. The Hopkins and Allen used pins. Most of the Hopkins and Allen's were in 45 caliber. The new ones can be had in all the popular calibers and even a shotgun barrel. I am left handed so these rifles really work for me. Thanks for the video.

Your lighterwood is commonly known as fatwood. This is the first time I’ve heard it being called lighterwood. I can see why it would be called that though. My favorite ferro rod is the Blast Match. It’s a one hand operated ferro rod. I keep one in my SAR fire kit.

@@knightingalesaid I bought a 15-2 6" 357 mag in 1980 brand new for $210.00. I was wanting a Python and saw the Dan Wesson next to it for $200 less. That was a great pistol! I have a 20 and 16 gauge from my dad that are over a hundred years old they both still shoot great. I bought my 12 gauge with four barrels when I was thirteen. Only shot guns I’ve ever shot. Had a buddy with a Remington 1100 said his semiautomatic could shoot faster than my Ithaca well, it didn’t,that slam fire comes in handy. They kick like a mule but are very smooth to shoot.
