I always felt this is such a special song and I’m pleased to see how many people agree. So many diverse recordings. It goes from pop song to Oratorio!

As a young man I would sit on the piers of the Hudson River across from the World Trade Center Twin Towers and listen to this song. Later in life I would return across the water to ground zero as a JCPD Officer and a first responder on 9/11. The destruction and loss of life haven been something I never thought I would witness in my life time. GOD damn those truly responsible to hell for what they did. And may GOD forgive me for feeling the way I do.

LYRICS TO "LET THE RIVER RUN" in the NEW JERUSALEM! Carly Simon (We're coming to the edge Running on the water Coming through the fog Your sons and daughters) Let the river run Let all the dreamers Wake the nation Come, the New Jerusalem Silver cities rise The morning lights The streets that meet them And sirens call them on With a song It's asking for the taking Trembling, shaking Oh, my heart is aching We're coming to the edge Running on the water Coming through the fog Your sons and daughters We the great and small Stand on a star And blaze a trail of desire Through the dark'ning dawn It's asking for the taking Come run with me now The sky is the color of blue You've never even seen In the eyes of your lover Oh, my heart is aching We're coming to the edge Running on the water Coming through the fog Your sons and daughters It's asking for the taking Trembling, shaking Oh, my heart is aching! We're coming to the edge Running on the water Coming through the fog Your sons and daughters Let the river run (let the river run) Let all the dreamers (let all the dreamers) Wake the nation (wake the nation) Come, the New Jerusalem!

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying: “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man, and He will dwell with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God."

Yes, same here! This is an incredibly spiritually inspired song - man will finally be reconciled to God WHO WILL DWELL WITH THEM, HIS PEOPLE FINALLY RECONCILED WITH THEIR GOD! Something so much to look forward to today, right?

Trump? Seems that Trump pervades eveyone's thinking. Don't use his name and maybe he'll finally go away, if he doesn't go to jail first.

This is so much more than a Movie Theme Song, Let the River Run is a testimony to all " Working Girls" who get up every morning whether they want to or not, whether they are tired, or sad, and put one foot in front of the other and just show up for Life. This song reverberates through my body and inspires me and makes me feel that there is " so much more I need to do in my Life." Thank you Barbara Marie Baio Staten Island
