I appreciate the talk on the busy holiday season, and holiday meals, LOL, … that keeping consistency and even just maintaining some volume if not usual intensity is OK and is better than just skipping things and de- training. Loved my Tonal for years now and can do more than I ever did at a gym.

Am a big fan of tonal 67 y/o physician almost to 2.5 million pounds. Recommend your product 4-5 x daily to patients. Now the presentation. Your ideas are sound but presented in an academic way. Users needs practical user friendly ways to use these new metrics. Tim said his word was simplify. Why not go screen by screen on the new features and click each button and explain how this applies to us. Example : why not go step by step showing visuals how to make sure our goals are in line with our workouts. Instead of just words show us. Not trying to be critical I want tonal to do great with this launch.

$4400 to purchase and $50 a month for the first year. After that I thought I’m free and in the clear. I’ve really loved building my own custom workouts and tracking my progress. I cancelled my subscription to only find out that once you do that you only have free lift. What? I contacted them and asked for a lower priced option for just custom workouts since I never used their programs or coaches. No such luck. Now it’s $60 a month. This is ridiculous.
@blevins25Ай бұрын
So you buy equipment for $4000 and it doesn’t really work unless you pay a $60 a month subscription fee. By that I mean you have to have a subscription for it to maintain your custom workouts or track your training. I love the machine but they have you hostage.

This is great. However, given that the average menopausal women is not used to SIT , could you please provide a detailed description of what a warm up and cool down looks like and then how to recover. What to do and not to do imbetween SIT.
@SusanMacLellan-r9x28 күн бұрын
A great warm would involve: 1. Dynamic stretches where the big muscles are moving to get the blood flowing- circulatory warm up- 5-10 mins. 2. Static stretches that focus on muscles that will be worked during a sit session. For example- if you are sprinting then really focus on lower body but also stretch upper body. 3. Simulate sprint movements with sprinter warm ups, or jogging and progressively go gaster over 100 m- go at about 50-65 % of pace. This lets your body know what it needs to do. Stretch in between sprints if you have “sticky” points. Then stretch after wards - think Yin Yoga stretches. This works for me. Hope this helps.

Thank you for the presentation, Chris. Very informative. How much protein can the body handle at one time? If I need 200g per day, will three meals be just as efficient as 5? Should protein intake be higher post workout?
@TonalStrong2 ай бұрын
From Chris: Thanks for watching the presentation and joining us :) So the body can handle a large amount of protein at once (over 100g). However, larger feedings don't necessarily equate to a greater anabolic response (i.e. muscle protein synthesis - repair/building of skeletal muscle). A recent study actually demonstrated a heightened muscle building stimulus with 100g protein vs 25g (doi.org/10.1016/j.xcrm.2023.101324) ... However, they probably would have observed the same at ~55g vs 100g. Previously, research has demonstrated that 40g protein postworkout is superior to 20g (PMID: 27511985). If you're consuming 200g per day, you'll get veryyyy similar results imo if you did 3 meals vs 5 meals. However, I do think 5 is probably a touch more advantageous, and perhaps more practical. For example, it would be easier for me to consume 5, 40g protein meals, vs 3, 67g protein meals. I wouldn't get too caught up in the finer details and apply the approach that's most sustainable for you :) This could also be 3 meals at ~40g and 1 large meal at ~80g. I hope that helps!
