Charlie was a snappy dresser. They say he was solid as a metronome. One of my favorites. I’ve been told I’ve got lots of good Charlie chops. Who knows how many hours I’ve got behind my kit with headphones on practicing to the stones. RIP Charlie. Thanks for helping me be a better drummer.

Whoever filmed this, you blew a giant opportunity at the 3:37 mark to stay on mick and Keith as they came together on 1 mic to sing . The official video shows it from the audience view and it would have been great to see it from back stage. Epic moment especially after Keith fucked up the lyrics in the first verse. Bummer for you.

Has anyone actually ever listened to the lyrics of Brown Sugar you would never get away with that nowadays "Gold Coast slave ship bound for cotton fields Sold in the market down in New Orleans Scarred old slaver know he's doin' alright Hear him whip the women, just around midnight Brown sugar, how come you taste so good? Brown sugar, just like a young girl should, oh, whoo Drums beatin' cold, English blood runs hot Lady of the house wonderin' when it's gonna stop House boy knows that he's doin' alright You should have heard him, just around midnight Brown sugar, how come you taste so good? Brown sugar, just like a young girl should, yeah Oh, get it on, brown sugar, how come you taste so good, baby? Oh, got me thinkin' about, the brown sugar Just like a black girl should, yeah Now, I bet your mama was a tent show queen And all her boyfriends were sweet 16 I'm no school boy, but I know what I like You should have heard me, just around midnight Brown sugar, how come you taste so good, baby? Oh, no, no, brown sugar, just like a young girl should, yeah I said, yeah, yeah, yeah, whoo! How come you, how come you taste so good? Yeah, yeah, yeah, whoo! Just like a, just like a black girl should Yeah, yeah, yeah, whoo!

Damn, I was totally convinced of the liveness until the drum angle at 1:13 and no one hits the cymbal... and yet, it is not the studio. Do we have a live take except for drums? This seems exceptionally complicated, even for the beeb. Ach poor Charlie, I now see his cardboard pads... so weird. Ok, thanks everyone else... It is a live vocal over the studio version.

Lyrics translation Brown Sugar Slave ships from the Gold Coast heading for the cotton fields, For sale in the New Orleans market Old slave trader with a scar thinks he's doing well Hear him whipping the girls at midnight (*) Brown Sugar, why are you so good? Brown Sugar, the boys should take after you The beat of the drums Heatens the cold English blood The house girl wonders "When will it end?" House boy thinks he's doing well You should have heard him at midnight (*)Repeat Do it, Brown Sugar, why are you so good? Made me feel it, Brown Sugar, the boys should take after you I bet your mama was a freak show queen. And all her boyfriends were 16 years old, I'm not a student, but I know what I like, You should have heard me at 12 in the morning, (*) Repeat, Why do you have such good taste, That's what a black girl should look like, Lyrics by Toshinori

Great song, probably the Clash's best, which is ironic because they considered themselves a political band. I like this little video; about as stripped down as possible, but what makes it cool is the revolving camera effect.

I don’t listen to a lot of Foo Fighters, but Taylor Hawkins was a Queen fan like me and he managed to get Roger Taylor there. Even in death Roger and Brian were there to pay tribute to him when they played Queen songs. Fly high Taylor Hawkins!

Mahalia has a beautiful soul voice. Jimmy ruined every song he ever sung with that ridiculous screaming. I'm sure he has a great voice, but that BS screaming 😱 isn't singing. No wonder he never made it past pub gigs in Australia. Jeez.😮
