I live on Long Island and everything you said about Greenport and the surrounding area is incorrect. They are not set up as tourist towns. They are regular towns that wealthier people live in because Long Island is expensive and the further you go out on the Island the more expensive things get. All of Long Island is a beach town. We are literally surrounded by water and have beaches north, south, west and east, with the beaches being the best in the southern and west most points of the Island. Montauk is one of the most notable tourist attractions here on the Island.

I grew up in wonderful Jenkintown back in the 60s. It was a great place back then. Not so much now Ive heard. Too much development. What a shame

My advice; STAY AWAY!!! Glad you didn't list my town but we have enough illegal implants, we can't take anymore. Most every town here is experiencing the same thing. Our population grew from about 5,000 to today over 12,000. And it all started .......yep, you guessed it, 2021.

GAP has several paved sections. First 12 miles out of Pittsburgh are paved as well as three miles into Cumberland, among other small sections. As he says he hasn’t ridden the entire trail.

We been to Watkins Glenn, Greenpoint, Lake Placid, Clayton, and Owego. We were going to vist Cooperstown but plans changed. Other places I recommend: Bolton Landing, Utica, Rome, Lowsville, Corning, Ithaca, Geneva, Binghampton (the Luma Festival is a must), Finger Lake Wine County, Peekskill.

I worked in Owego for a few months. A nice quiet town. A few nice places to eat or have drinks in the few blocks of the downtown area. Everyone is nice and friendly.

My Daughter and granddaughter move to Erie Pennsylvania, one for a job relocation and 2 to be near my granddaughters’ cousins. My question is where do the public schools rank among other city schools and is it a safe place to raise one’s daughter?

Ocean city has it all. Easy to get everything you need. Walk, drive or bike it’s easy. Soft sand and cleanest water reports each year.

I live in Queens and for me Upstate New York starts north of Rockland west of the river and north of Putnam east of the river. Beyond that you know you're no longer under the influence of NYC.😊

Went to Ocean City NJ every year from 2007-2019, once in 2004 as well, and I’ve only been to Ocean city Maryland once back in 1999 when I was really young. New Jersey is of higher quality for sure from what I know, but it has somewhat gotten worse due to crowds from Philly coming in lately.

So you went to a bunch of run down upstate New York villages. If Hudson Falls isn’t on the list I won’t hold any hard feelings. 🫤

Well presented, and the rankings for visitor amenities well reasoned. I was surprised that New London edged New Haven for tourist attractiveness, but again ,well reasoned. Stamford is probably the best city for residence, but it’s fourth place ranking again well reasoned. This is the most accurate representation of urban Connecticut I’ve seen so far.

Do you realize that most cities in Connecticut are 300 or more years old and therefore the streets are not well laid out. You missed the parks, beaches restaurants and nightlife. They can not build apartments fast enough to met demain.
