A magpie is far too agile , quick , fast and keen-minded , it will always win against a big cat (eurasian magpies are even more performing). Here magpies evade easily and effortly , they use an extremely little % of their performance potential. A big cat may catch a magpie only if the magpie is dying already for old age and is on the ground , or if for some very rare reason it is wounded on wings , but that would not be a match , same if I speak about a big cat injured at legs and not being able to run. Also , magpies can eat about anything , even more than others they do not need to feed on a corpse guarded by a puma , probably most of the magpies in the footage just passed by , that's why they did not use any stealth approach and used vocalization instead. The fact about the puma is similar to the true lion , which is a loser , weak and ferocious animal which fails the almost 100% of hunting attempts , is killed by some of their preys and by other animals directly after attacking them , it dies for starvation after being injured by some preys and is never able to catch some other preys. No performance and no skills. That is why , even hunting in packs , this animal went extinct totally in Europe during the Stone Age , went extinct in Asia apart from a single shrubby forest and went extinct in most zones of Africa. The population of lions is very low , there are more people in a little town than lions in the world and the only reason why there is still some lion in the world is that some humans do pet sitting with them by breeding and protection even if a lion would easily try to kill a human. I will not read possible replies so to prevent fanaticism.

Luckily the eagle didn't have to worry about vultures. 1 vulture is enough to fight off an eagle. Theres a video of a golden eagle locking talons with a vulture fighting over food, and the vulture quickly overpowers and pins the eagle. Luckily the eagle managed to kick it off and it flew away.
@aristotels_aristotals
@aristotels_aristotals 3 жыл бұрын
That video was in Africa (if memory serves me correctly) and the vulture was quite a bit bigger than the eagle. If it were another subspecies of eagle (larger), things would not have ended the same. The eagle is the lion of the sky. The most aggressive, self-confident and battle-ready bird. If vultures were, they obviously wouldn't be scavengers.
@robertoromero8053
@robertoromero8053 3 жыл бұрын
@@aristotels_aristotals Im sure it was in North America or Eurasia. Vultures are bulkier and larger, so it was easy for the vulture to defend its meal from a smaller, more fragile opponent. The largest bird to EVER exist was a vulture. Eagles are much faster and more skilled fliers, so they are good predators. Vultures are big and mean and can chase things off of their kill. Even coyotes get chased away from vultures. For those reasons vultures are great scavengers. Vultures have been observed chasing eagles off of carcuses all over the world. They are just more skilled at ground combat so they win everytime. Eagles typically don't get their kills stolen though because they usually take it to their nest or a perch to eat it. Its only carcuses where these 2 raptors meet. But when they do vultures usually win.
@aristotels_aristotals
@aristotels_aristotals 3 жыл бұрын
@@robertoromero8053 Indeed, it is a video from Asia. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rqS6h6uqatqGlZI Well, I am not a bird specialist but golden eagles are not the largest eagles. And in ground combat, size is often decisive. But those eagles can beat even larger sea eagles (Steller's). kzbin.info/www/bejne/g4nEk4eZqK6VqMk Have you heard of harpy eagles? They are larger than the golden ones and with larger weapons. It would be interesting to see how he would have done against the vulture. I think Philippine eagles are huge too. In any case, we do not know if the eagle in the Asian video is a male or a female (the females are larger). We don't even know if it's a full-grown specimen. In the sky, a vulture is no match for an eagle: it is much faster and more maneuverable.
@robertoromero8053
@robertoromero8053 3 жыл бұрын
@@aristotels_aristotals Believe it or not the largest raptor in the world is a species of vulture. Even larger than the Harpy Eagle. Different eagles specialize in different prey. Bald Eagles are very skilled at catching fish, while golden eagles are specialized for land based hunting. As a result Golden Eagles are typically winners in most confrontations. Vultures evolved to be scavengers and as a result have evolved to be very bulky and heavy compared to most birds. Their bulk and weight came at a cost, being they're pretty slow compared to other Raptors. They're still no pushover, and can steal kills from all kinds of birds. Smaller vulture species that share the same habitat as the Harpy Eagle have worked together to intimidate the eagle into leaving. Vultures are not just nasty scavengers, they're a force to be reckoned with.
@aristotels_aristotals
@aristotels_aristotals 3 жыл бұрын
@@robertoromero8053 1.- I have told you that we do not know the circumstances of the eagle in the video. We do not know his age or his sex. 2.- We only have that video. So we cannot deduce that its result is the usual one. 3.- Vultures are scavengers, don't bother anymore. You cannot go against the rest of Humanity. 4.- Vultures do not fight to get all their food, as eagles do. 5.- If a Harpy eagle is somewhat larger than a golden eagle, then it must be almost the same size as a vulture or, sometimes, larger. So the difference in size will not be so decisive. 6.- In the sky, the golden eagle will beat the vulture. I will bet on the eagle and its greater intelligence and aggressiveness: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKjddoegepakl9E And since this matter no longer piques my interest, I will let it be. Have a nice day.
