Cheers for all the testing!!! That Huey needs a good balancing lol. I bought the FlishRC Airwolf 500 size and am looking for a tail rotor that'll quieten the thing. V2's come with a alloy base and folding props. Seem quieter. Wonder if I go to a slightly larger prop (1/2" to 1" larger diametre) with the bent back/feathered tips (They seem to be the quietest I've heard) would work? Would have to watch tail motor temps though. Still quieter than a Nitro powered Heli that's for sure lol.

The Iroquois just doesn't look right with four blade main rotor, they were all build with two blades. And that suckers main is shaking like mad as it spins up. Brave as heck putting these ones up in that wind. Now the Hughes 500, it needs a five blade main, and while it's mains aren't shaking it about, that two-blade tain us completely unbalanced. None of the Drone Props look to be properly balanced at all. Looks more like you need a tail prop that has blades that can pivot, so they aren't changing inertia as fast when the motor varies speed up and down. 3D print, dump the PA-CF for regular PA, but print it with a space to push a carbon rod down through to stiffen it it. The PA-CF isn't any stronger, it's mostly surface difference finish. And, Do Not Sand !!!, the PA-CF (or PA-GF) without protecive gear for hands and lungs.

@@pilotbowser9980 The adavantage of the Nylon (PA) is it's Melt Point, which is why it can be used for Engine Manifolds, where PLA will warp when left under glass on a clear day. The Carbon Fibers, same with Glass fibers, is as or more dangerous as Asbestos to breath in, which is why it needs to be treated with respect when finish sanding - done to the same methods as car body repairs, masks and vacuums. I've modded my Voxelabs Aquila (Ender 3 v2 clone) to do PA-CF, and it's a challenge - Bed over 100C, Steel Nozzle at over 290C. @@pilotbowser9980 I dabbled in some of research and a potential option is to use a split power plug to power a speedy bee V4 All in one flight controller (With DJI O3 port) connected to your Air unit. Optional headtracking with BK RC head tracker (rated 5V) which can also be powered by the speedy bee flight controller servo plugs. @@pilotbowser9980 Thanks for your kind answer! Flying with 3D mode ON and 6G stabilization OFF is very different, but so rewarding once you got it right! Not just for 3D acrobatics, which I do not really do, because I am not an advanced Pilot. In 3D mode you really "balance" the heli all the time with very tiny stickinputs and the "counter" inputs. The bad thing is: I had to learn everything from the beginning again. Starting with just hovering and then learning one new thing after another. But the feel of giving such tiny stickinputs on the cyclic causing these machine to fly in crazy, unlimited bank bankangles and finally do exactly what we want is so rewarding. If you try it, try hovering and slow flying from side to side first to develop this total different feel of balancing! I wish you a great journey and all the best!!

Unfortunately, it seems you don't grasp the distinction between a helicopter with GPS stabilization versus a drone. GPS stabilization in RC helicopters helps maintain a fixed position in the air, making it easier for the pilot to control. However, beyond this stabilization, the pilot is responsible for controlling all aspects of the flight, including pitch, yaw, and altitude. Typically, these helicopters lack the advanced autopilot features found in drones. If you let go of the controls, the helicopter might hold its position due to GPS, but it won't navigate or avoid obstacles autonomously. Drones with GPS not only stabilize but can autonomously navigate based on GPS coordinates. Many drones can execute pre-programmed flight paths or return to home automatically if the signal is lost. These drones often include additional sensors for obstacle detection and avoidance, allowing them to fly more safely even in complex environments without constant manual input from the pilot. I hope this helps clarify the differences. I’m happy to discuss this further if you’d like!

Hi Bowser nice video. Quick couple of questions. Ive noticed that FlishRC is one of the very few that still sell 500 size scale helis. Whats your opinion on their quality and ordering from the company in general? Im in the states and our only options are HeliDirect or MotionRC. Ordering anything in this price range from overseas is a gamble.
@pilotbowser9980
@pilotbowser9980 2 ай бұрын
Thank you! The quality of FLISHRC is great. I have never had an issue with them. When you order a helicopter, they build it from scratch, test it, and send you a video showing that they have debugged the aircraft. Also, their customer service is very fast. If your helicopter ever has an issue once it's in the States, you can ship it back to get it fixed or replaced. After they debug the aircraft, they will ship it to you. I am planning on buying a couple more 450 scale helicopters. As for the 500 scale, it's currently out of my price range. But here's the good news: those helicopters often go on sale. I think I will likely get a 500 scale around Christmas time, as they usually offer free seven-day shipping. However, the downside with the company is their shipping costs. You can choose to ship it by boat, which takes a couple of months and is cheaper, or you can spend $78-200 for the seven-day shipping, which clears customs automatically. It depends on what you want to do, but I highly recommend waiting for a sale. If you get the app and sign in, you can earn free points that you can convert into dollars, which you can apply as a discount to the helicopter. Additionally, you can apply a coupon when you spend a certain dollar amount to further reduce the price of the aircraft. I would suggest waiting for a sale to buy a helicopter. If you were to build a 500 scale from scratch with individual parts, you would probably end up spending around $2000. So, they are cheaper, but I always prefer to wait for a sale when buying a helicopter. Always do your research before buying. I hope this helps you out.

@pilotbowser9980

Helicopter's main rotor spins clockwise, so the tail motor also spins clockwise to prevent the fuselage from spinning counterclockwise. Therefore, just reversing the tail motor won't work, as it will end up spinning in the same direction as the main blades. Also, when dealing with the tail motor, it's important to ensure that the thrust counteracts the counterclockwise momentum of the fuselage.

Going from a 4 blade main propellers down to a 2 blade system, did you just remove 2 of the blades? Also, did you make any adjustments to the head speed settings? Thanks!

Yes, you could do it that way, but it would be easier to just buy a two-bladed head. You also need to get a new swash plate that supports the two-bladed head, but I'm planning on making a video very soon about converting my Bell 206 to a three-blade head.

The only difference between the 2 blades is for the mod, I need the 1 without the R but the same number, correct? Thanks again.

Yes, that is correct. However, it depends on the direction of your tail motor. If it’s spinning clockwise, it should be 5045R, and if it's spinning counterclockwise, it should be 5045.

@@pilotbowser9980 Spinning direction is from the perspective of the motor mounted on the left side of the Heli, correct? Thanks

Great video. I have a fw bell 206 with the same problem. What is with this company putting something so expensive that it comes like this where you have to do more work to it. Not right!

Yeah, I know what you mean, lol. I would check your blades to make sure they're balanced. If they're not balanced, it could cause it to vibrate. Don't over-tighten your main blades, as that can also cause vibration. I should have a new Airwolf video coming out soon because I believe I found the cause of my vibration issue.

Are you looking to convert your 2-blade helicopter head to a 4-blade head because the 4-blade head has been discontinued? Additionally, you will need to find the swashplate that is compatible with the 4-blade head.
