I am seriously considering buying one of these for traveling/quasi full timing. What size pickup would I need? Do you think a hybrid F150 could do the job? I plan on maxing out on solar and using the car generator to charge the batteries, and the solar to charge the truck!
@pnwxploredАй бұрын
Unfortunatly very minimium a 250 truck is required. Better a 350. You will love travelling with it. The hitch tongue weight is heavy so either airbags added to truck or a good weight distribution hitch is a must. We love the multi use it allows! Grandkids, kayaks, motorcycles, and your own master bedroom and roomy bathroom are fantastic! Go for it!

@@pnwxplored Spent a night at Virginia Lakes in the Sierras where campers were packing up and leaving in the middle of the night the wind was so bad. You need to have Wildernest pointed in correct position on a windy night to minimize the force of the wind.....also been in rain and hail and stayed snug as a bug. TOO bad nobody is making these anymore

What are the Yakima towers you used on the factory rack? I just bought some gutter towers and artificial gutters but if I can avoid drilling into the fiberglass I’d prefer to do that
@pnwxplored5 ай бұрын
I found a used Yakima showboat roller setup with round bar clamps that attached to my existing Sunrader rails. I did have to beef up the Sunrader rack, I slid inside galvanized piping to stop them bending.

I just bought a 1989 Toyota dolphin RV the beginning of April 24. It’s not four-wheel-drive of course it was redone in 2006 and so was the engine. I love the big windows in them and the bathroom. I’m going to change a few things initially. I wanted it to be more or less off grid. Then overtime, I’m going have other things done. But I love it. I paid 7000. I plan on putting a little bit of money into it over time. It’s a lot of money for it. It has been beautifully redone. It would cost me a fortune cause I couldn’t do it myself.

Hello what is that 2 battery housing called? Where can i find one 😭 omg pleass help
@pnwxplored7 ай бұрын
It was factory made the fibreglass box. I used a marine “blue seas” magnetic type batter combiner/isolater and charging via solar or altenator. You can isolate one battery just for engine while remote or use both if your crank battery fails 👍 Awesome system.

Wait do you mean the fibreglass poles on the inside ceiling? Or the outside support poles that go from the ground up? There are 4 fibreglass ceiling support poles. 2 are shorter 160” and 2 longer 171”. Think it depends on your wildernest tent size too.
