I also am sewing on an old Kenmore that I got for Christmas in 1979. I love it. I recently found one in a thrift store for $115 , while the other plastic ones were about $25.😊😊

I feel the same the older it is the better. I picked up a singer from the 40's for £25.00 and was given a machine from the 60's. Both are so heavy can't carry it but solid construction. Just love them.

Same machine I own! Purchased from Sears via layaway back in 1983 where I had to pay $9 a month because that was all I could afford at the time. Perfect for all my sewing needs.

Hi Deanna, thanks for the great tip! How do you transfer the quilting thread to spools that fit on your sewing machine? those would not fit on my old faithful.
