This is the first-ever Aussie Rule football game I've ever seen and this was fun and really interesting to watch. 🏉🇦🇺🟥🟨 I can watch this over the American football that's here in the states. Because these footballers are real warriors. Who needs shoulder pads and helmets? 🏈🔥 Cheers from the 🇺🇸. ✌🏻

Under Jeans, the Saints were poor finals performers, so they let things slip there. After that, they were effectively broke for a decade & became known as the party club. When they finally got some good players in the 90s, they once again were poor in finals.

Just reminds me of how disappointed I was when Smith did his AC in 97 another of those what if moment's what if he, Spida, and Vidovik were healthy and played the 97 GF Still can't believe he ended up at Hawthorn So many good players but just couldn't make it happen I always loved the sound of Smith, Brown, and Jones Had to edit it to make sense. Only I knew I was talking about Joel Smith

I found it. As a Collingwood supporter this was the first game I ever went to, as 10 year old. I can vividly remember being way in front early in the game then barely kicking a goal after that and Lockett kicking goals over his shoulder and losing badly. The ball barely even went into Pies forward 50 after 1/2 time. We were not a good side in 87. I was standing behind the goals on the hill at the end Daicos broke the post. I don’t remember that moment though. I went home pretty sad but still great memories

Wonderful documentary.Loved hearing the old slang again.Even though I don't support the Saints I became emotional.I remember the day clearly. I lived in Tocumwal.Alan Jeans home town.St. Kilda recruited him from Finley but the Jeans family lived in Toc.The town was as proud as Punch Incidently, Alan was nick named Yabby because his older brother was known as Lobby, short for Lobster and naturally the little brother would be a little lobster - Yabby

Great thumbnail choice haha It's a shame that the AFL couldn't accept this ruling and had to hand Reid GOTY on a silver platter just so their prized pick could win something in his first season.

Just been watching the Saints last few games and paying attention at Zack Jones. After getting fit, he really is a class player and a great contributor to the side.. I hope he stays fit for 2025 because he is a top player when fit..

I was thinking that this was two sides going in opposite directions, and then I checked the ladder positions at the end of this round and then the end of the year and after this game St Kilda's win loss was 8-4 and Melbourne's was 4-8, so there you go, two sides that went in opposite directions after this game. Well done Saints.

I definitely remember that one too!!!! It's was shown on the 1 hour highlight program in the States in 1992!!! I was shocked that Tony Lockett was cleared from that after the final siren hit on Jon Doriatch!!!! I really thought Plugger would be suspended for a couple of games after that late hit????!!!!!
@JohnRRoe221 күн бұрын
It's wasn't Dortich !!!! It was Nathan Burke that Plugger hit after the siren!!!!

I’m a St.Kilda fan , very hard being a Saints man, loved all these Saints men,Brian Mynott was my favourite Saints player since I was young kid , of course there were better gifted St.Kilda players but for,some reason Mynott was my favourite player and after all these years he still is favourite player. It is like a loyalty thing you don’t change teams ever and you never change your favourite player once you’ve picked them. Brian always worked his backside off and was always showing plenty of heart. Hawthorn was a great team ,they had and the many awesome players they had over their time. Matthews ,Tuck, Crimmins, Knights ,Brereton, Hudson, Dunstall, you can go on forever. I didn’t mention Saints greats because I would still be typing this time tomorrow.😅 This was great to watch, thanks for uploading this.

Nothing better than not playing sh*tney in sh*tney & belting them regardless , so many different players in the team only almost 5 years later
