Pex and propress, you just made every old school plumber start bitching all at once!

Great choice to abandon and run a new line if possible. I hate breaking up concrete and fixing compromised copper.. knowing another pin hole will show up lol
@Jman200-x5h16 күн бұрын
So I’m curious what the point of the 45 was? Am I missing something? Looks like you could’ve just rolled the tee at a 45 and put in a longer piece up to your Pex adapter?

Then, if God forbid the water freezes at some point, does it expand again and pop off?
@GW7109323 күн бұрын
Nope. Expansion pex can freeze without damage.
@FortniteFinishers21 күн бұрын
It can actually take a free along the whole line
@TheFelony21 күн бұрын
Expansion is far better at freeze resistance due to the fact it's designed to expand. I usually swap freeze prone lines over to this in buildings that property managers would rather pay for my labor every time something copper freezes and breaks than just insulating lmao

Is there an advantage to using a tool and seal like this over crimp rings?
@caidhg23 күн бұрын
Couple benefits are by making The pipe bigger you're maintaining the inner diameter of the pipe to the inner diameter of the fitting which keeps your flow rate and also the plastic is always forcing down on the fitting trying to go back to its original size so you're not relying on a piece of metal that can corrode and fail to apply pressure down on the pipe to hold it on the barb.

The hilti laser is amazing as well with a very robust mounting system including a neodymium magnet. I used it a ton for commercial plumbing jobs.

how? it hits the x y z axis, is cordless, and follows an internal pendulum for accuracy. A gyroscopic level may be more ideal for maintaining position with changing in position/velocity but anything will usually work. in 2024 even chinese random amazon version have solid performance. I have the Huepar laser level and it gets the job done

If the city main is having issues and flowing into the house, wouldn't the city be liable for the damages? The city isn't properly maintaining the sewer main causing the issue.
@kikibellebubba1248Ай бұрын
The person that plumbed that sewer line didn’t take into consideration the height of the city manhole. Sewer line was installed incorrectly.
@PlumbingwithJesse25 күн бұрын
The city is aware the line is in bad shape. Unfortunately they are not responsible for any damages caused according to them

Don't you need a normally open check valve for the building sewer to help vent the city gas? So it will be one of them float valves.

Also if the city sewer can't get in the home owners sewage can't get out as well and their crap will back up onto the home.

Cool! Now, after all that, which didn't correct the actual issue, only their own crap will back up in their house!
