Oh, this part hit home. I don't think I ever got over this sense of self, since my own Anxiety is still the main driver of the wheel... So I think the movie did really well in depicting this scene! Especially how thick the root and stem of this new self is, which makes it way less fragile or easy to get rid of than the "I'm a good person" one.

Dang...If even Ennui, the embodiment of boredom mind you, looks that shocked, you know Anxiety's plan has gone too far...

That's way too relatable. Everyone is different in a way, and some people grow desperate for fitting (Specially if they have been excluded millions of times) and even though they try, they feel like they are never good enough. But dang they actually use the concept of self-esteem and make it into a mind thing to make people cry. The movie writers are smart.
