Next time try the Polar Express in Jamestown, CA. They have a steam engine pulling the train, a working round house, a slower train ride with old rail cars, it's great.

How was the noise/vibrations/movement back there? We're considering a last minute cruise in this cabin. We've never sailed aft before.
@livingthevacationlifeАй бұрын
Our understanding is the back of the boat in the lower levels tends to have the least movement, for us it was a guaranteed room rate, so we didn't choose the cabin. I would say the vibrations were minimal, and we travel with a white noise machine, so our sleep wasn't affected by noise. It was also nice being close to Cabanas, we'd definitely stay there again, but I wouldn't pay extra for the location. We've also heard great reviews on the middle part of the boat, lower levels. Of course the weather and size of the swells will also play a factor regardless of location. If you're getting a good deal last minute, I'd say go for it, you can always move if you find movement is an issue. Hope this helps, enjoy your trip 😎

I was on this cruise too and even saw myself in your video. Just wanted to add, swim diapers are not permitted in the small pool above adult area (Donalds pool). The only place that swim diapers are permitted is in the Nemos splash pad :-) Loved watching your video, brought back some lovely memories <3
@livingthevacationlife4 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed the video! That's good to know about the swim diapers - there were definitely some children wearing them in the Donald pool, so they must just not enforce it as much as in the larger pools.

Love the video! Thank you for sharing. I am debating between secrets and ziva. It will be our 1st time in MX and first time in all inclusive. Looking at it, I would need 85k in ziva and 71k at secrets. Hmmm Few questions if you dont mind: A. Did you guys rent a car? How hard is it to get transportation airport to resort? B. The mini bar in the room - can you choose what drinks you want the next day like more water instead of juice? Hehe C. The thanksgiving dinner - if our plane arrives at 5pm from PHX and who knows how long is the customs line in the airport plus transpo plus check in, plus unload stuff in the room. Do you know if are they still gonna be open and serving thanksgiving dinner? Thank you for the info! Great job on the video!🎉

Thank you for watching, glad the information was helpful and excited for you on your first adventure to Mexico, hopefully the first of many. I don't think you can go wrong with either property in terms of offerings, we chose the Ziva as it's more family friendly, Secrets is adults only, having said so even if you aren't traveling with kids, there's at least a few pools that are adults only at the Ziva, so it's very easy to avoid kids. A. Since we stayed at the property most of the time and we wanted to avoid traveling with a car booster, we chose pre-arranged private transport, we paid $58 for a roundtrip journey. Otherwise plenty of taxis or Ubers available at the airport. B. Yes, if you ask housekeeping, I'm sure they can accommodate, especially if you add a few singles. You can also get water bottles from the coffee shop or order during room service. C. 5pm should be plenty of time to make it for dinner, I remember it going late. Customs will depend on the number of international flights arriving, took about 20 mins for us plus like a 30 mins ride to the resort , I think by 7-8pm you could be enjoying dinner. I would be more concerned of the flight getting delayed and if possible recommend taking the earlier flight, there should be at least 3 more from Southwest/American that arrive earlier than 5pm.

I'm looking at booking Transatlantic cruise Southampton to Florida on the same ship. (1) How did you find the weather over Atlantic was pool open every day? (2) Did you find the need the sweaters and that on top deck? (3) I've done previous Disney cruises but not Transatlantic - how would you compare the two?
@livingthevacationlife5 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching, great questions. (1) Day 1 was super rainy in Southampton, it got better once we left and continued to improve as left the English Channel, once we left Lisbon, weather was really nice until the last sea day before New York, we had to sail thru a storm. (2) We packed light sweaters and raincoat just in case, we really only used them for a few windy days on top deck, otherwise very nice weather in Spain/Portugal and the Atlantic. (3) We've only done Transatlantic with Disney, best bang for your buck. We've done 7 days with other cruise lines, definitely prefer the longer sailings for the extra sea days and free passage across the Atlantic. Plus more Mickey churro waffles 😋 (4) Keep in mind you'd be sailing during hurricane season, weather can be unpredictable, I think overall we had great weather, but it was also in September, this upcoming sailing is in October, might be a bit colder. (5) You might also consider the EBTA sailing in May, weather is much nicer and avoids hurricane season, we have a few videos too on the EBTA if you want to see what it was like 2 months ago, still wrapping up the series, so more to come 😎

If you watch the first 10 mins, we show our entire travel journey from our hometown, Phoenix, Arizona to Southampton. We paid about $4300 for a guaranteed Oceanview rate, two adults, one child. Thanks for watching! 😎

@@livingthevacationlife that’s a very good price for 12 days of cruise.

Headed there next month, thanks for the tips!! Appreciate you pointing out the house wine vs upcharge wines. Are there any cocktails or hard drinks at the steak and japanese restaurants that aren't upcharge?
@livingthevacationlife8 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching. Also at the Japanese restaurant, they're gonna push the sake hard, so beware as it's not included. Each restaurant does have a drink section highlighting common drinks and specialties, so you'll want to check the Hyatt app for the latest menu. Otherwise, you can generally get any well or classic tropical cocktail (margarita, paloma, Piña colada, etc) at any of the restaurants, just ensure you stick with the house liquor. Hope you have an awesome time next month 😎
@livingthevacationlife8 ай бұрын
One of my favorite cocktails was the Chango Loco at the swim up bar or the Mango Loco at the Tequila bar. Chango loco is like a Mexican version of the mudslide, perfect for lounging at the pool, the mango loco is a mango based cocktail based off mezcal, a great way to end the night. Cheers!

@livingthevacationlife all great tips!! Thanks so much!! Will have to check out those drink suggestions. Cheers!
@daltonl87516 ай бұрын
Agreed the Mexican Restaurant was the best! Asian and steakhouse were good, but not the best. The house drinks were notably low quality liquor, but the house wine was great. We too liked the pizza, but the Italian restaurant didn't stand out. Everything about Highlights sports bar, the drinks, service, food, were comparable to a higher quality sports bar, which made it great for our big crowd.
@livingthevacationlife6 ай бұрын
I noticed a lot of their wine selection comes from Valle de Guadalupe, which is like the Mexican Nappa Valley up North or South American regions like Chile, so yes, agree on their wine quality. Glad to hear y'all had a great time and enjoyed the Mexican restaurant as much as we did.

Great review! We head there soon. Any thoughts on the food and drinks from the bars?
@livingthevacationlife9 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching, we do have an upcoming video where we review the rest of restaurants along with bars. Like for example the bar highlightz, has descent pub fare like Nachos, Wings, Burgers, and you can catch your favorite sports on the Big screen. There's also the bar by the Club tower that has more premium alcohol and there'll be a spread of quick bites throughout the day. Otherwise the rest of the bars are pretty much by the pools. Throughout the day you'll also want to be on the lookout for the a small street car by the swim up pool that serves quick meals like tacos, hot dogs and jerk chicken 😋
