could i use cream hydrogen peroxide
@LoBelia-DIYcosmetics2 күн бұрын
You could, but applying cream you can create a harsh line on your hair. The effect won't look naturally. It can lighten too much at once and create spots if you are not precise. I wouldn't use cream.

It seems like the beer colours your hair more orange and the peroxide more yellow. Is that true?
@LoBelia-DIYcosmetics9 күн бұрын
No, I think it is the same tone of hair with the only difference that beer is lightening hair very gentle, so the hair is darker and maybe seems to be more orange. It's all depends what your natural hair colour is. If you have cool tone, then after lightening with hydrohen peroxide you should get more ashy tones. My hair has naturally golden / coppery highlights, so after lightening I've got light golden blonde like when I was a kid 😁

You did a test once with strands of hair. There was no difference between 3% or 6%..Why not use 3%? I love your color, same as mine 😊
@LoBelia-DIYcosmetics12 күн бұрын
Thank you 😊 Yes, that's true. However in that experiment I was soaking the hair in this 3% solution, so it processed faster. When I'm applying to my hair I want to do it gradually with a small quantity to not create visible line between lightened hair and my roots. I choose the stronger solution so it won't take ages and because my hair is fine with it. I would use 3% for dry or more damaged hair. I hope that makes sense 😉

I'd be interested to see the hair with peroxide under a microscope since it's apparently so damaging (causes cuticle, follicle & oxidative damage, removes moisture, etc). Just bc it _feels_ soft & strong doesn't mean it is.. but I don't know exactly how bad it is. Any hairstylists here?

Does it matter what type of essential oil you use? I have lavender oil at home and am thinking of trying that.
@LoBelia-DIYcosmetics18 күн бұрын
You can use lavender. However, citruses have lightening properties, and I found that the spray works better with those oils than without them.

Writing from Turkey. camomile treatment is something we do every summer. İt depends on the hair of course but it works for sure. But we apply it and dry it under the sun perhaps that's the trick. And we apply it everytime after shower for a week or more , it makes more interesting results.
@LoBelia-DIYcosmetics21 күн бұрын
Thank you for sharing 😊 I was leaving the hair on the sun until it was dry and even reapply the chamomile a few times during one session. But still the results not satisfying. Maybe it needs to be done for a longer period of time. And to be honest Turkish sun vs English sun, no comparison 🤣

What about mixing peroxide with almond oil?
@LoBelia-DIYcosmetics28 күн бұрын
It's better to use oils between the hydrogen treatments to regenerate hair. If you mix it with oil, the strength of peroxide will be reduced. Also the oils do not mix with hydrogen peroxide. They separate so I don't see any reason to use it together.
@hideoussails1783Ай бұрын
So using just 3% hydrogen peroxide is good enough?

Yes. However if you want to mix it with some herbal solutions use 6% of hydrogen peroxide.

1. Could it turn my hair into white too?🥺 2. How long you suggest to use it? Like years?🥺 3. You use 6%, the bottle I purchase it's written"20 VOL" what's this %? 🥺
@childishknight8587Ай бұрын
My bottle says “ food grade 6%/ 20 volume “ on the label
@LoBelia-DIYcosmetics28 күн бұрын
1. No, definitely not. It's not a bleach, so it can lighten the hair a few levels only. 2. You should use it regularly if you want to keep the effect. Your hair is growing, so the roots are obviously darker. 3. 20 Volume (20 VOL) developer is commonly used in salons, and its strength is 6%.

Thank you for this! I have had some success with a honey/cinnamon/olive oil/water mask, but its definitely subtle, even with letting the mixture "develop" for a few hours before applying it to my hair, and then leaving it in over night. My hair is a natural dark blonde and I like this mask to keep my hair from darkening in the winter in a way that's not super noticeable. I think I want to try the chamomile/HP mask to see if I prefer it's results.

Thanks for sharing! I used to do hydrogen peroxide lightening but then learned it's damaging your hair as well, drying it out. Obviously not as bad as bleach but still..Also have to be careful not to spray any on your head directly which is tough when you target the roots.. I think it's chamomile and lemon for me from now on
@LoBelia-DIYcosmeticsАй бұрын
Thank you for your comment 😊 That's true. The hydrogen peroxide can dry out hair but lemon as well. I found that hydrogen in spray ( and avoiding apply to the scalp) is not that harmful for hair. I'm using conditioner and oils and my hair is fine.

Very helpful video … but can I just use 3% of Hydrogen Peroxide instead of the 6% with Chamomile? I bought the 6% thinking it was the right one like in your video ? But then you also said we can use 3%! Will 6% damage the hair while drying in the sun?
@LoBelia-DIYcosmeticsАй бұрын
I'm using only 6% and my hair is fine. I'm applying conditioner and a bit of oil from time to time and it's enough to keep the hair moisturized. You can do like I did in the video, so use one part of 6% hydrogen peroxide and mix with one part of chamomile infusion. This way you will get 3% of hydrogen peroxide.
