Had a 1985 Blue with 351 Commander. Best hull ever. It even handled Tahoe no sweat.

You already have all the lines on your paper. If you have the digital image, open it in an editing program. (MS Paint will work) resize it to the diameter you need, print it, laminate it and glue it to your foam.

Question on your rear bench seat. I just bought an 85 nautique and the seat at the back is just a cushion. No wood and no rear side pieces like you have in the corners. any idea on where to source those or build new ones ? Also where did you get the upholstery done ?
@KrisFulford2 жыл бұрын
The previous owner had that sear replaced I do not know who it was. Check around for your local upholstery places and ask to see any boat work they have done. As far as the seat frame, Mine had what they called the Deluxe interior. I think the regular did not have the side pieces. I am sure you could change over but you would have to source plans to build them. Or come up with your own design. You might could check on the correctcraftfan com forum someone there might have plans or at least measurements. There is tons of knowledge there, it was a major resource for me.

I have a 1986 2001 Nautique and I have never seen anyone rebuild a boat to the level you have (5 Stars). Even the trailer is better than new whar Correct Craft sold. If I were younger with a children not in their mid-thirty’s and considering that a new 2019 Ski Nautique is pushing $150,000.00 with no options, your boat is great rebuild and buy. I can tell you know what you are talking about and seem very honest (hard to find these days). I really enjoyed your excellent video, it made me feel like I was at the helm! Thanks for doing this great rebuild and video. You have made this 1985 Ski Nautique a real gem that anyone would enjoy having!

Can you explain more about the foam you utilized for holding threads? Thickness, density and how well does it hold the thread and does the foam keep them from slipping?
@plebny7 жыл бұрын
I assume you've sold this by now. Were you satisfied with it?
@KrisFulford7 жыл бұрын
Yep it worked great and could cut down small trees up to about 3/4" thick. That is as far as I took it anyway. It is not a finishing mower what you get is a rough cut finish but that is what is was designed to do.

Sorry to say, but your video tells me you really like the regular TRX. My question is, why would I, having a TRX unit would try make knock off version? It's like having a set of professional weights and start pouring cement into cans with metal pipes to see what I like best, or even worse, it's like having a full blown gym membership in a 24 Hour Fitness Deluxe and going and buying a set of cheap weights at Walmart and then try to decide what's better. It doesn't make absolute sense. Either you work for TRX or you just like to waste time and money. Leave the knock offs for those who either can't afford the real TRX or those who just DON'T want to spend the money that a TRX unit costs. I use a cheap $20 suspension system with great results. For what I can see neither the TRX nor your cheap system have done the job for you.
@jennoscura23818 жыл бұрын
+alexgomez2 He made the DIY one first. He said in his _DIY Suspension Trainer_ video that people should start with the DIY and if they like the concept they can upgrade to a TRX. My plan is to go DIY and not bother with a TRX. I am low income. So I can't justify spending close to $200 on something I can make for much less than that.

you GOT to give it to TRX?!??! are you insane? :) is all about the price mate- buy the things that it will give you every advantage and option at any given time at a price...20% of the price of TRXthings- the ONLY thing that TRX has on advantages is GOOD LOOKING PRODUCT- thats all :)

TRX is complex and limited. Rope <$5 PVC <$2. Just tie rope to pvc handles and around anchor.

Great job if I would have seen this a week ago I would have made one instead of making one. I agree with the other person a larger diameter pvc would accomondate a larger diameter rod and possibly made easier to make mark for threads. Good job buddy post another video if you do an update to your weaver

Great job! I will be making this soon as I have a pressing need for one. The only change That I would suggest is in using a larger size pipe. The reason is to accommodate a larger rod. The screws with the tips take up a good portion of your original 1 1/2" space. Otherwise, I really like the overall design, good job and thanks for sharing!

Wow crazy spent the last (I think ) 4 hours looking at your rebuild ... Looks amazing mate 10 out if 10 I'd say !!! Just one question where did the factory screw drivers seat into ? Is it straight through the fibre glass into the stringers ? If so I think my boats in need of the same treatment your boats gone through !??!!!! :-( I went to sit on my seat the other day and the seat bolts just came lose , so I tried screwing new ones in there but it's like there is nothing there for them to screw up on ?? Ant info would be great ??
@KrisFulford10 жыл бұрын
Thanks, It was a lot of work and it took a long time working on it on and off but I am really happy with the results!! The drivers seat is screwed into the plywood under the fiberglass floor laid across the stringers in front of the ski pylon. I predrilled mine then filled the holes with 3M 4200 then screwed the seat down. I did not use as many screws as the factory did to minimize the places for water to get into the wood.
@rayzor19610 жыл бұрын
Cool..... I see so many idiots here with there boats and then running them out of the water to get all the water out of them so they don't wet there garage floor lol ... What did you get done to yours ? Mine needs new gel coat and maybe the stringers done ...
@KrisFulford10 жыл бұрын
Oh no, anytime I run it now it is hooked to the hose. That was right after I put the motor back in the boat and just wanted to see if it would run after sitting for a few years. I did all the work myself. I replaced the Stringers, foam, floor, seat bases and pulled a bunch of parts off the motor sandblasted and painted them. Plus a bunch of little this and that stuff. I am still tinkering with this and that. My whole project is documented at www.correctcraftfan.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=9503&PN=1 check it out and see what you think. There arr tons of knowledgeable and helpful people over there.

Watching a TRX DIY I found WOSS. check it out on Amazon. I paid I think max $48 with a mount and shipping. The foot straps are not as comfortable as the TRX which I used. I do all my exercises barefoot (not the barefoot shoe) and it does rub my achilles tendon and I will try wearing socks to see if that helps or I might sew some material onto the foot strap. The TRX I used also would slide. Where the WOSS has metal grip clasps.
