The angle of the extractor isn’t the same when it is holding a round. That’s why there’s an extractor spring. The important question is whether it ejects when fired.

Does it do this when firing live rounds? Looks to me as if you are babying the slide.

There is no Gen5 Glock or any other Gen. The Glock 43 as the G42 and most single stacks, First Runs; however, they contain the Generation 5 Upgrades except the barrel under the G42. Notice that there’s no GEN stamped on the slides. Contact Glock should be the only message here.

This is a known issue by Glock on the 43x and the G48. I called Glock about my G48 with the same problem and they said its normal. You have to pull back very hard and fast to eject an unfired round. They suggested that as the recoil spring wears in it might be a little easier. I would never give this gun to a women or older person because you need some upper body strength or this gun is not safe.

Ok well I can’t explain the guide rod issue but I can say for a fact your Gen 5 pistol is working as intended. The breech face and extractor angle on the Gen 5 guns (at least in 9x19) is designed to retain the spent shell in a much more solid manner than previous generations, that way when the shell contacts the face of the ejector during the slide’s rearward movement, you get a very solid and positive ejection. Every 9x19 Gen 5 Glock I have tried to extract a live round from has required much more force than normal because the case head is much more solidly retained against the breech face than previous models and all Glocks have rather “extreme” downward movement of the barrel during the unlocking process so you’re also fighting the downward movement of the cartridge/cartridge case as it’s still partially in the chamber as said chamber begins to drop downward. Sorry if my explanation seemed drawn out and, you don’t have to like the new models, but from a mechanical function standpoint your “issue” is an advantage.

So like my previous comment, I’m having the same issue as you however, you stated you’ve never had a malfunction on the range. I’m in the same boat as you. I have a couple hundred rounds through mine and I’ve never experienced the slightest malfunction on the range a.k.a. firing the handgun. Therefore I will absolutely keep mine. You should give it another chance because the reason we buy Glocks is for their reliability. so far, it’s been 100% reliable on the range and that’s all I care about. When I pull the trigger, I want it to function and so far it has every single time. I would venture to guess that seeing as how you and I have the exact same issue, it may not be an issue. It may just be the design and also I’ve noticed mine got easier after the first 50 rounds. I agree with you that it doesn’t feel natural when compared to all the other handguns that I own, I own many. I know what you’re saying however, this gun is 100% awesome when I’m pulling the trigger and therefore it will not be going away anytime soon

I’m actually having exact same problem with my Glock 43. I’ve never experienced this issue with any other pistol that I own including Glock. So I did take mine to a gun gunsmith. He was a little perplexed but really couldn’t find any issue with the firearm. he did mention that I was running it slightly dry however I had just gotten done firing on the range so that’s to be expected. Overall it’s been completely reliable on the range. I don’t like the way that it ejects when trying to manually eject a cartridge, the issue that you and I have both stated however, I’m going to run it in a lot more before I make a final decision

Dude, you shouldn’t be handling firearms because you’ll just end up hurting yourself. You don’t know what you’re doing. The way you’re reassembling the gun with shaky hands and sporadic slide cycling. Then you tried to push the 43’s barrel into the guide rod hole on the slide, before you realized your error. Then you didn’t seat the guide rode properly. You have no clue how to handle the firearm and it’s no wonder you have issues. It’s called “user error.” My analogy was like we were watching Helen Keller trying to hit a piñata. Seriously, I recommend you get some professional training on handling, disassembly, cleaning and reassembly.
