well done to you mr photographer, very impressive with the way you interact with the baby and the parents.

What a great video and insight!! May I ask what your flash adjustment exactly was to just lighten up a bit?

beautiful images and great BTH video...what is your setting for shooting a group of 5 people? Aperture, SS, flash ?
@AFotografyEdinburgh2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. The aperture would be around 5.6 and I keep them as much as possible to the same focal plane. People at the back, I ask them to lean in as much as they can. Shutter speed in the studio always stays 125th.

I’m doing a newborn session Monday! I love this video. How do you deal with possible pee shots (lol) when the baby isn’t wearing a diaper? Do you just go forth and hope for the best? Or is there a strategy there? Thank you!
@AFotografyEdinburgh2 жыл бұрын
Hi, There is not really a strategy there. You just tell the parents that these might happen and that we might need extra sets of clothes changes. Accident happens and everyone just keep calm and chill ha ha

Just stumbled upon this video and I love it!! I’m looking into getting into Newborn photography at home. May I ask what kind of flash are you using to fill in those shadows? Thanks!
@AFotografyEdinburgh2 жыл бұрын
Just normal cheap Yanungo flash. These are around £60 new. Nothing special or fancy :) If you want more juice I use Godox AD360II

At 12:31 do you have a light that flashes behind the curtains to get those final results (bright background)? It would be interesting to know how you set up the studio. Many thanks
@AFotografyEdinburgh2 жыл бұрын
Hi, yes I have a studio light behind it. You could use a professional scrim set up to get the same effect, but I like the curtain as it goes all the way to the floor. I am planning to do studio set ups video to talk about lights, positions and final effects.

Muy bonita la sesión, hay que tener en cuenta que estos bebés prematuros son muy difíciles de manejar ya que les cuesta mucho dormir y relajarse 💘💞

These images are beautiful and such a great behind the scene look at a real in home session. Such a great idea about doing more formal shots after baby is sleeping. Would love to know more about the length of your sessions, how you promote in home sessions and what your final products are for your clients.
@AFotografyEdinburgh2 жыл бұрын
Yes I would be waiting till the baby is at the calmest part of the shoot to do family photos. Sessions are around 2 hours I would say with all feeds. These are super chilled and natural. I don't promote home shoots. Parents would either like studio or home shoot. Studio involves more props and posing and home shoots are pretty much only about natural photos. I have made whole guide on my site about studio VS home shoots :) Final product can be album or wall art portraits. Normally it would album with portrait box. Hope that answers the questions.

Enjoy it. Take your time, look for the light and angles. Don't rush. That is the beauty of lifestyle shoots. You can take it slower. Let me know how it goes and if you have some challenges along the way.

Hey can you share what camera lenses you use for the photos?
@AFotografyEdinburgh3 жыл бұрын
For family photos I use sony 24-70GM and for newborns alone would be 35mm as 24-70 is crazy heavy and I prefer fixed focal length. Generally f3.2 or f4 with 50iso. Light power would be very low too. Hope that helps

Thanks that helps a lot

Wow I just stumbled upon this video and I love it! Thank you so much for posting this! Are you shooting the video with a gopro attached to the camera?? It looks so I interesting everytine you put the camera down
@ArmandsSprogis3 жыл бұрын
When I shoot for youtube stuff I use 360 degree camera. It is very tedious to edit but I can choose whichever angle I want.

Beautiful work! How many images do you give to your clients in this kind of photoshoot?
@AFotografyEdinburgh3 жыл бұрын
Looked at this specific session and it was 113 photos as a final. Keep in mind that this was not the easiest session. Loads of stops and feeds. Baby a bit older etc. Normally it might be a bit more photos I guess. It also depends on how much I would need to edit these photos. If just light, colour adjustments, then more photos, if there are loads of skin edits, then I would keep it to less number to save time and money. Hope it helps.

I mainly shoot outside, but recently I had an indoor family session. I should have used the flash because oh boy the Iso..... What are your camera and flash settings please? Next time I would like to try using a off camera flash. Thank you.
@AFotografyEdinburgh3 жыл бұрын
@@elisastamerra8892 I set flash setting very low as that is only to complement available light and not over kill it. Watch maybe this video I made recently. kzbin.info/www/bejne/h4nCpqGid9irgLc. There is whole blog post for it too. In description.

What is your lighting set up for new born photography, do you bounce the flash or use a particular diffuser?
@AFotografyEdinburgh5 жыл бұрын
Shooting into umbrella and have a diffuser on umbrella as well. Sometimes shoot through the curtain.
