OMG, this was soooo delicious. I am not a cook at all. This was super easy and turned out very nice. I used a whole fresh onion, sauteed a bag of spinich and made jasmine rice with while wheat oat rolls....mic drop !!

Instead of using water 💦 for the sauce add orange 🍊 juice 🧃 instead. I also add a little chicken bullion to the sauce. I also add shrimp 🦐 paste to give it a more seafood 🦞 taste 👅.

Hey hun, it’s correctly pronounced as yee-ros with no G sound, but with a Y sound instead. Also, there is an S sound on the end (rather than a z sound or no S or Z sound at all). The r is flapped and sounds like the sound the T makes in the American pronounciation of the word later. The S in Greek on the word gyros is not plural but singular, plural would be gyroi. When some folks say gyro (even yee-row) in English to mean a single gyros, it’s incorrect as the rules for an S on the end of a word are not the same from Greek to English so lack of the final S does not mean singular in this case. It’s almost as if the word gyros would be spelled as yeedos in English although it’s not. I wanted to help you say it the right way so you can sound authentic when you talk about gyros. Keep cooking!
