See the black knob on top of the machine,it is the ON and OFF switch, also the same as speed increase and decrease control knob.

Yes, the yam pounder can be use with solar depending on your solar configuration. The wattage is 300W, I am using it with solar inverter.

Hello M.R, Here are important tips concerning outdoor sensors for weather stations. I own both brands of Newentor and Accurite great weather stations. All my outdoor sensors are wrapped in double zipped sandwich bags, and extra secured with rubber bands. I simply insert a small tie wrap under the elastic bands, so that I can hang them in a safe dry and sun free location. This method has benefited my sensors to remain in mint condition and trouble free, even in the outside environment. I strongly discourage exposing any weather sensor without these simple procedures.
