That should be in your settings, when the mission is complete, you have the option of returning to home or going into hover. Depending on where I’m flying, I will use either setting, or I will just fly home manually.

Thank you for your video! I am new to the drone industry and bought the Magic 3E for construction inspections and testing next week for my 107 Pilots License. I love your monitor set up and used your shopping list to get that going. How did you mount the T-Bolt attachment to the case? Can you tell me what hotspot you are using for connectivity, I have found WIFI an issue when setting up and some locations. The power supply you listed is not available, so I am getting something similar. How long does that type of power source last with the View Sonic? Thanks for the great info!!

Great video !!! question would you recommend getting a “ hotspot” like mentioned in your video for “all” commercial pilots or more depending upon what type of mission pilot is flying? Reason i ask is because am new pilot and i am currently just using my cellular hotspot

You can certainly use your cell hotspot to start out, but once you get busy, a dedicated hotspot would be best.

I know it’s not as large…. But, the FeelWorld LUT11h is VERY bright. 2200nits. (11” diagonal display) HDMI and/or SDI “looped” input and around $300. I have one but haven’t tried the “function” settings yet. Supposedly, you can assign specific brightness/backlight settings to a function button. There is a company that produces all sorts of custom cut and labeled (looks way better than my P-Touch work LOL) escutcheon plates for a few separate pelican and Nanuk cases. You use their web based app to layout the holes and everything you want . They charge a slightly pricey (for our vol fire dept budget under BIDENomics) fee for the work, but they are gorgeous. (around $75 for a plate with 4 HDMI ports / 2 RJ45 / DC power 5.5x2.1 barrel / DC Power out 5.5x2.1 barrel / Power in Anderson 45a powerpole / and a few other items. I’ll post a link and some pics of the one we built in-house. Thanks !

You obviously take drone safety seriously. Interestingly I just viewed this video a day or so ago, when I had seen another video in which drone incident reporting was brought up as part of drone safety day. NASA administers a program which takes anonymised safety reports for the aviation industry, including UAVs. Contributions are welcomed at asrs.arc.nasa.gov - this database is dedicated to improving safety in the industry. This is the sort of incident they are interested in collecting information on.

Is it better to take thermal at night or during the day for room inspections. I will research how to get certified in thermal for sure. I do have my 107 license and retired first responder out of Florida. With my connections from being a former first responder and the recent ban of dji drones in Florida for first responders to utilize them, I will be filling this void with my 107 license with the departments approval as long as i do not interfere with their operations. Over the course of this month, i have customized a light weight thermal camera being attached to my drone yet i did not realize a certification was needed. Most of my thermal would be for search and rescue operations this hurricane season anyhow. Yet i am still interested in the certification of it.

@spartanaerialservices
@spartanaerialservices 6 ай бұрын
Well yes, it’s a hack because Drone Deploy will still stitch it together even though it wasnt flown in DD (which at the time of this old video DD took 27 images to stitch, Pilot 2 only takes 26 images), however, since the release of this video, DD now has the pano set up to work with the M3E while flying in DD. Thanks!
@feverpitchpro
@feverpitchpro 6 ай бұрын
Fred. Thanks for the video. Good job. I recently purchased the M3E. Dig it! However, I recently flew a DroneDeploy ortho using my M3E. The coverage was really bad - missed images everywhere. I had the latest firmware AND latest DD app version too. Have you experienced missing images in your orthos?
@spartanaerialservices
@spartanaerialservices 6 ай бұрын
I usually fly all of my ortho in Pilot 2 and then I process in Drone deploy, I really never used Drone deploy to directly control my drone for any mapping or aerial data sets, unfortunately, I do find Drone deployed to be very inaccurate while controlling my drone. I would much rather use the native application For that. I find a pilot too to work so much more seamlessly and it is so much more accurate.
@feverpitchpro
@feverpitchpro 6 ай бұрын
@@spartanaerialservices Thanks for your reply Fred. Yeah, I'm leaning more toward Pilot 2/Flight Route as well instead of DroneDeploy. However, In THIS video you used DroneDeploy (1:05) for the automated mapping. I was wondering how THIS flight and mapping with DroneDeploy turned out? Missed images? Did you get everything?
@spartanaerialservices

My apologies, was thinking about the wrong video. This particular mission looking back through the data, the individual photos/data points were accurate. The client that i fly for has a very rigorious quality control process for data, so it would have been kicked back if there was an issue, and i quality control check everything myself. That being said, the issues that you have seen, I have had happen to me when flying DD during a thermal mission. The other issue i tend to see with DD is the return to home is highly inaccurate, and will land as far as 30ft away from the initial takeoff point. I would be happy to discuss further, feel free to shoot me an email @[email protected].

In my experience, the three enterprise is a much more efficient machine. I’m lucky enough to have both, so I use the Evo for my back up in case I have to send the DJI unit out for maintenance but if you were to be able to purchase one and you purchased the Evo, you’ll be just fine, you just have to fly the missions a bit slower is all.

What is your estimate for a life expectancy in hours for the M300/350 class of drones (M30's as well). Aside from batteries, remove weather etc. For purpose of the question, assume flying in a climate controlled clean warehouse, how many hours would you expect to get out of a M30, M300 or M350 platform? 2k-3k hours? (with motor changes and maintenance of course). Great video, thanks for posting it.
