I’m a conservative evangelical, and if you look at my words, I said it won’t be “all about” literal fire. There may be real flames of fire, but the Bible is certainly filled with figurative language about hell too. For example, it’s a place of unquenchable fire but it’s also a lake and a place of outer darkness.

The parable of Lazarus and the rich man, is about showing mercy when able, not that anyone lives after death. The dead do, and know nothing, all over the Bible, except in this one parable.

@@Mr.Hawkins-ld5ug what do you say to the christians that have a different interpretation to you on key areas of christianity? Do you just say, "you feel it in your spirit" to them as well? They'd probably say the same to you, despite coming to different conclusions of what the text even means! The hard fact is basing your beliefs on feelings is a terrible way to determine what's true about reality. This is why muslims, hindus and hundreds of varieties of christians exists... because they rely on how it *feels* to follow these beliefs instead of following the evidence. If 1 true god exists, and if he's all-powerful, why couldn't he have made his existence and his will far clearer to all, instead of people relying on flawed feelings to work it all out?

Great question! While the Bible clearly teaches that people are not good by nature (we have natural tendencies to be selfish and rebel against God… What Cliffe Knechtle calls “readiness to sin”), all humans have the capacity to do some good or to have some good characteristics. I believe they call that “Common grace.” In other words, God gives some capacity to every human being, even those the world considers super evil, to do some nice or good things, but only through his power. But… Christians nor anyone else are “good people“ by definition because we all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. No one is good enough to earn their way into heaven. But that’s why we accept Jesus and trust him for our salvation. He paid the price for our sins, and now God views people who trust in him as good, not because of our own goodness but because of the goodness of Jesus that is given to us, so to speak. Does that help?

Wow, thank you. I’m actually seeking God’s guidance on what to do, because so many of my shorts get hundreds or thousands of views, but the longer videos (my 1-10 minute ones) barely get any views, which means there isn’t really a “community“ of people talking and sharing a lot here. So sometimes that’s disappointing. So I’m thinking about what to keep doing next or whether to just try some totally different channel with a different type of Christian content. Anyway, I appreciate your encouragement!
