I don’t think the Polynesian lineage migrated to the Philippines but Polynesians migrated out of Taiwan through the Philippines and out to the Pacific.

Both are Austronesian speaking peoples. A genetic study from 2021 hypothesises that the Austronesian migration into the pacific began out of the northern Philippines, either through the Mariana’s or directly from the Philippines, or both.

Polynesians didn’t exist back then as a culture group. The Austronesian expansion into the Pacific started in the Philippines as the ground zero. We are basically the originators as we came 1st. Our tattoo tools can be carbon dated as far back as 4000 years. The “out of Taiwan theory” has been debunked by newer evidence like archeological. From before they already had genetic (DNA of humans, plants, and animals), as well as linguistic evidence that all Polynesians can trace their ancestry on their maternal side back to one single Igorot woman in the PI. Taiwanese Aboriginals are closely related to the tribes of the northern part of Luzon, and for example the Visayas was settled through back migration from Borneo. We are all Malay/Austronesian, and Malay and Indonesians originally came from the Philippines before settling their own islands. Even Thai are related to us, same are the Naga peoples of Nagaland East India, and the Imerina of Madagascar as the latter also migrated from Borneo and was the 1st humans to settle on the Island. Thai are originally Austronesian and came from Taiwan before migrating to the mainland where they were heavily influenced by Sino Tibetan/Chinese and changed their language. All of Southern China and Vietnam was also Austronesian before Chinese colonization. I’m Western Visayan: Ilonggo and Cebuano and my pre colonial ancestors came from Borneo like all Visayans, before settling in Panay, Negros and later Luzon. Tagalog originated alongside Hiligaynon, but they stranded on Luzon, and chose to stay…
