its there a way to randomize the patterns like using 3 different images and just use theme in random
@MKBlueprints
@MKBlueprints 3 ай бұрын
No, I don't think there is a way to do that, although it would be a cool feature for sure. As far as I know, you can use only one picture in a stamp, and for randomising, you can mirror it or change the size.

For trees that lay on top of each other. Did you make your stamp tat way, or is there a way to have the stamp in front "cover" the stamp behind it?
@MKBlueprints
@MKBlueprints 3 ай бұрын
There is a way to cover the stamp behind with the one in front, but in this case, I have created a few variations of the tree stamps with some overlapping. That's what you most likely see on my video. You can also create one layer with background trees and then add front ones on a new layer and then erase anything that peeks through from the bottom one. It is, however, quite a time-consuming way of doing it, so I would suggest creating overlapping stamps for copses of trees or tiny forrests.

You can't imagine the impact your message has had on me, it truly touched my heart. I'm 37 years old, and I've always done what I was "supposed" to do, but for a while now, I've been thinking about pursuing what I love, which is design and illustration. However, sometimes I feel foolish because of my age and the fear that I might not be able to support my family with a profession like that.
@MKBlueprints
@MKBlueprints 3 ай бұрын
Thank you! It's lovely to hear this! Remember that you don't need to swap one profession for the other straight away. Start from doing art and design in your free time, see how it goes. You can always transition as slowly as you can! Maybe in time you will be able to go for a part time job with support from your design and illustration business? Nothing is impossible if you put your passion to it :) I know the pressure of doing what we "supposed" to and the fear of feeling "foolish", but at the end of the day ask yourself this: Will you, in 20-30 years, feel more regrets about feeling foolish than regrets from not doing something you love and feel passionate about? Plus, even if your design and illustration work won't bring money, I am certain you will feel happier and more fulfilled which is always something that will bring a little more brightness into your every day life! Remember you deserve to do what you love! No matter how silly it seems to others! :)

When drawing the lines for the brush, why not make that many lines to begin with. Instead fo duplcating so many times.
@MKBlueprints
@MKBlueprints 8 ай бұрын
This is to ensure the lines are repeating seamlessly horizontally and vertically, so you can draw any length/width with it without seeing the "seam" of the design on your map.

I know how difficult it is to produce a video because I tried my hand at creating a Procreate class. I want to tell you, you’re definitely not too old to start a shop or make videos. I started my art career (after hobby painting my entire adult life) at the age of 70 and opened a Shopify store. I’m still going strong at nearly 73. No sales from my store which is frustrating, but I fortunately don’t need art to support myself. About this video, the content was great, but the music was very annoying and way too loud. It’s difficult to hear you. Maybe it’s not my style of music, the volume needs to come down. When you work so hard to script and deliver your content, it’s good to have it heard. Keep making art! Love your fantasy maps. 🩷🩷🩷

is there a way in affinity designer pixel persona, to snap a line to a perfectly straight line or perfect circle ; at the end of a stroke ( kind of like procreate does it?)
@MKBlueprints
@MKBlueprints 9 ай бұрын
Don't think this functionality exists, to be honest. For straight lines, I use the dot menu (command controller) with arrow up. This will continue your stroke. So I make a dot with brush tool at the start of my line, then press the arrow up on the Command Controller, and then make a dot at the end of my desired line which creates a one continuous straight line from the forst dot to the second one. As for cirles, you can use a selection tool with elipse shape as I don't think there is any other way in pixel persona to make cirles. You can always switch between vector and pixel personas as well. Although it is an extra step, it will help you create more precise lines and shapes. And you can change the look of the lines on those shapes to match with your brush.

Great video and so many tips!!! I have a question, when you use affinity to create the lines and procreate to color, do you lose quality in the colored parts when resizing? I’m not sure if I missed you saying that
@MKBlueprints
@MKBlueprints 10 ай бұрын
Thank you! Yes, you will lose the quality on the coloured (raster) layer if you try to increase the size a lot. I would recommend always working with larger canvas to avoid issues. However, in case of the map I'm showing, due to the background being quite smudged already, it wouldn't matter too much as you can always blurr it a little more to avoid pixelated look. Hope this helps.
