@@Beanieminitutorials Thank you....there comes a time in a man,s life when bikini clad models no longer keep a chap awake at night ..and simple Tunisian stitches neat, tidy and counted are the replacement.

Finally.....if you have any guidance on how to prevent curling in Tunisian crochet i would appreciate the advice.
@BeanieminitutorialsАй бұрын
@@JamesGower-ch5zj In my experience it depends what you are making. The great thing about beanies is that curling is not an issue. You could try using a stitch that does not curl. If I am making a scarf using a stitch prone to curling such as simple stitch and knit stitch I start with a row or two of purl stitch and finish with a row or two of purl stitch. So the purl stitch at both ends will stop curling. Another way of reducing curl is to try a larger hook size. I generally use a Tunisian crochet hook that is a couple of mms larger than recommended on the yarn for conventional crochet/knitting because Tunisian crochet generally produces a denser fabric. You could also try blocking, but I have so far not resorted to that. I hope this answers your question adequately!

It's certainly festive :) opinion as a newbie to tunisian: of the 3 main stitches, the full stitch felt initially like the most boring, but as i see more and more creations with it, i'm liking it even more than the TSS now. and a suggest, if u want it: the voice volume is a bit low; could do with a little boost.

Hi, thank you for taking time to comment. Full stitch is one of my favourites and it is really easy but you have to be careful not to gain or loose stitches. It looks great especially on beanies. I shall take on board your comment about voice volume! Thanks again

I’ll do this. Love Tunisian. Going to use your advice of using the stitch marker at the end of the row.

Thats insane that its called cheating. A cooling method that increases performance and is achievable by all should be a standard upgrade?

Hi i have another question if you don't mind please. After every round are we suppose to close it with the first stitch like with a slip stitch and count the numbers of stitches or it just keeps on going like a swirl. Cause mine is going like a swirl and m afraid it will look bad and uneven when ending the beanie
@Beanieminitutorials Жыл бұрын
No the beanie is created using a spiral (or swirl) so no slip stitch is required. It is essential to mark the first stitch of each round so the rounds increase in size properly and regularly. If you do that it should be fine. I hope this helps!

Great tutorial. Short and smart. Can this be made with a smaller yarn
@Beanieminitutorials Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your lovely feedback. Yes this can be made with any yarn. I used the chunky one simply as I had just enough for 1 beanie. The first beanie I made using extended single crochet was with a double knot yarn and a 5 mm hook. The difference is that the thinner the yarn, the more rounds you will need. The measurements remain the same i.e. 7.5 inch diameter to finish the increases and the desired length. I like beanies with a brim so 11 - 12 inches is ideal. The way I would proceed with a smaller yarn is carry on as per video and then: Round 8: 1 extended single crochet into each stitch (48) Round 9: 5 extended single crochet and then 2 extended single crochet into 1 (56 stitches) Round 10: 1 extended single crochet into each stitch1 (56 stitches) Round 11: 6 extended single crochet and then 2 extended single crochet into 1 (64 stitches) Round 12 1 extended single crochet into each stitch1 (64 stitches) Round 13: 7 extended single crochet and then 2 extended single crochet into 1 (72 stitches) This is what I did with double knit yarn to achieve a diameter of 7.5 inches. If you need to keep adding more rounds just continue with alternating rounds of 1 stitch in each and one round increase by 8 etc. Please add another comment if this is not clear. I hope you like your beanie!
