The changing between tenses sounds frustrating and I'm sorry, but I don't have any advice... I don't use Pro Writing Aid or Grammarly as I don't use either one. I have used Hemingway App a few times. There's a free and paid version, but what I like most about it is that it tells me what reading level my writing is at as well as a few other things including sentence length and cadence, passive words, etc. I don't always change what it hints at, but the free version is helpful to my needs.

The tense thing sounds so frustrating, I’m sorry you have to wrestle with your brain like that. I wish I had a suggestion, but Grammarly is one of the only ones I know. I do like the Hemingway app for the way it measures sentence length/strength but I’m not certain how good it is in general-I’ve only used it a few times. I haven’t even started thinking of goals for this year ugh, but I’m inspired seeing how well-thought out yours are!

Thank you I think I will go back to grammarly I stopped paying for it a bit ago. I heard Hemingway was very basic which is why I haven't used it. I'm sure you will think of great goals just remember if you need to goals can be flexible. Hey for the last couple of years I have had to rearrange my goals mid way through the year. I believe in you and your a great writer.

As someone who switches tenses like it's my job LOL, I find that if you write in past tense Grammarly is decent since it already changes everything to past tense. ProWritingAid tends to pick where there is a lot of tense changes in a page but is not perfect by any means. For tenses I rely on a human copy line editor. Spell and grammar checkers still miss a lot of the nuances needed in Fiction. I still use them to save my editor's eyes and when Im in a super tight deadline.

wow, project elf... I remember that one. Are you reading it before deciding what to do with it? How fast you want to put the story out? Like in the next couple of years or in like five years?

I'm glad someone remembers Project Elf as I don't talk about it too much. I do need to read it before I do anything with it especially because I know it is rough in the middle if I remember correctly. I'm not sure when I want to put it out honestly I just know I want to share it with the world at some point. Right now my main goal is to put out the Project Blasphemy Universe books.

I’m sad that I won’t have NaNo anymore, but at the same time, it’d started to lose its charm for me in the last few years anyway. But like you, it was the community of it all that I really enjoyed. Thanks I can't wait for my sisters wedding to be over so I can do more color. Nice to know others like the idea of the small town colony idea and it's not just me. Taking the time to work on all the erotica stuff has been much needed and I have some more solid ideas now for trad pub but I am going to stay in the erotica indie world for now.

I so agree about titles. I struggle with them so much because they need to be PERFECT. This idea sounds so interesting and unique! Honestly, it already gives me Katee Robert vibes--and I mean that as the highest form of compliment, because despite me being behind on her books, I am a ride-or-die for her!

One day!! And I’ve seen a few that pop up in Baltimore and Washington, DC, but somehow I always miss them until I hear about them like a day later lol. But that’s a good reminder, now I’m going to research because I need some book fun in my life. And I totally agree! It’s shameful to admit that I’m very sheltered and sometimes I just don’t even consider things like that. I’m trying to be better, but unfortunately it’s so ingrained in a lot of us when we’re growing up, because my parents are white as hell and their parents were white as hell lol. It makes for a very ignorant upbringing, so I’m excited to see and learn more!

I also had a sheltered upbringing so somethings I never experienced because my family has been in America for a few generations now. When it comes to the festivals and stuff my biggest recommend is follow them on Instagram and if they have a newsletter sign up so you can keep track of dates. Last year I almost forgot if it wasn't for Instagram.

I actually enjoy editing much more than creating. But as a pantser it can take a lot of energy to create sometimes. I have found for videos that I need to have a set day for filming or nothing will be filmed. Also, I am looking forward to talking with you more on the WWW stream!

Ugh it’s hard to find stuff like this near me, but it looks so fun. And I def would’ve liked to attend that Size Matters panel, but OF COURSE someone had to get all preachy about “health.” 🙄 Concern trolls, who don’t bat an eye when a size 2 woman drinks and smokes, but a size 20 woman merely existing? “It’s just a health concern!” Let me not get into that. 😂
