Thank you so much for letting us listen to this. His profound and real sound stays in me. With this video his interpretation talks to our soul. What a musician. Every morning he used to play Bach music and on his music stand Bach was there to the last days.
Le mi basse en bourfon est une merveilleuse invention de Bach.

His tempos are forced, too fast, then too slow, not naturally musical.
@tocacuerdas10313 ай бұрын
I'm sorry, but I don't think you're a musician ! The different tempos refer to Rodrigo's own indications and if the composer prescribes ‘espresivo’, the speed can also be reduced. You probably like better the interpretation by Yepes (to whom it is dedicated), because he plays En los trigales strictly ‘a tempo’ and depicts the evenly swaying movement of the wheat in the wind. This is convincing in its own way, but I find Ponce's quasi-intrinsic interpretation equally impressive.

Severely underrated guitarist, rarely mentioned by contemporary players…Who agrees that frankly this is better than 99% of what may be considered great by today’s standards…

@StevenWatsonMusic3 жыл бұрын
@@sebastiansullivan4770 there are a few recordings of Pujol around. The best are two duets he did with wife (who also played without nails) in the 1930s: search for "Emilio Pujol Matilde Cuervas" and they should come up. Both are arrangements of Falla: one is Danza de la Vida Breve and the other is The Miller's Dance from The Three-Cornered Hat. There is also a recording of Pujol playing 3 pavans by Luis Milan, presumably on vihuela. Most other Pujol recordings should be avoided. They are later recordings, from the 1950s, by which time he not only had bad hand tremors, but was also becoming deaf.
