We sell lots of cosmetics, but ours is a specialty niche as what we sell is Mehron brand performance quality theatrical and stage makeup. We do purchase new and direct from the manufacturer. The turn around is good and we restock the same products over and over, making listing a breeze.

Thank you for responding back to me one thing I’m starting not to like on eBay and a lot of people I know that used to sale on eBay have their own website to me if you look at it you’re not working for yourself you’re working for eBay all the fees the shipping labels at the end of the day on some items you’re barely making 50 Cent look at the amount of money they show you that has been made the majority of that is E BAY‘s money A person is not even getting half of that it’s not 50-50 it’s more like 60/20 or should I say 80/20 and E BAY being the one getting the larger part I suggest anyone selling on eBay get your on website when you get ready to leave E BAY just send customers Business card showing your new website because to me E BAY now is a joke I cannot see these people sayingThey are making all this money on eBay to me that’s bull crap they want you to watch their KZbin video so they can get paid off of that not saying you are doing that just saying eBay to me sucks and a lot of people don’t know PayPal is eBay
@yasminhorn_2 жыл бұрын
Hi Terry, I’m sorry that you had bad experience with ebay. It has its pros and cons like any platform. I think eBay does have a lower selling fees than Poshmark, I think Poshmark charges us about 20% 😫 but when you pay for promoted listing ( ad fees) those fees can rack up! That’s why I try to keep my ad fees as low as possible within the 2-3% and not the recommended campaign fees. On the other hand, on Poshmark not only pay 20% selling fees but if you offer discounted shipping that eats some of your profit as well. On eBay if you work toward becoming a Top Rated Plus Seller, eBay cuts down on some of your selling and shipping fees which help soooo much!! Another way to keep money in my pocket is by not offering free shipping. Shipping costs have spiked up so much that if we offer free shipping, it would definitely cut into our profit so much, especially on a small resellers like myself. I do think it’s a great idea what you said about having our own website and have a backup plan just in case eBay doesn’t work for us. I think because I started with eBay first and did it for a year alone without alternative platforms, I learned how to reduce some of the costs and it made it easier. It did take time. I also found ways to cut down on cost of goods because that’s another area that can eat into your profit once you factor it in. I like to be transparent when sharing my numbers, many resellers don’t share their actual profit so you’ll see my actual profit being much lower than other resellers. Most viewers like to watch videos of resellers that make thousands not hundreds. Since I’m in the lower end, I don’t have thousands of followers 😂 at least not yet. YT is just another fun platform to share your passion 🤩

Great video! As for not being on mercari.. I'd think twice about that since I believe it's becoming more and more popular. Be sure to include tags in the description. That's what they mainly go by.. just like ebay and there titles. I personally purchased a couple items just to get the positive reviews. Shortly after I started listing items and little by little sales came in. Just think about it😁

Wow!!! I guess everyone has a special niche with a platform! eBay was the first platform I started out with and with time it performed better. I think poshmark was second in line and does well. When I decided to try mercari, I just struggled to get it off its feet and I found the shipping a bit complicated. I’m so glad that mercari is working well for you!!! Keep trying with ebay because you have the biggest buyer audience. eBay is very needy it requires daily activity! You can refresh your store weekly. Try delisting old items and use the sell similar feature to introduce your item as new. Simple things like that helps to get boost sales

Hi Elia, I started going to the Goodwill Outlet rather than the Goodwill Stores. At the outlet, there are no clothing racks. Instead, they have stuff in huge blue “bins.” Which you will hear me use this word a lot in my videos to say I went to the Goodwill outlet. I started going there because it’s a great way to keep my cost of goods super low and it helps to maximize my profit. At the bins you pay by the pound instead of individually so you save ton of money. Occasionally, they’ll run a 50% off day so stuff are even cheaper! the only thing is that you can be there for hours and hours digging through the bins to find great treasures😂 and its crowded 😬 but it’s fun!! Every outlet may have different prices depending on the state

Hi! Thank you for your precious video! I am stating now selling on eBay and I would love to know if should I send itens before receive the payment or the minute I accept the offer should I post the item to the buyer? I am a little confused because I received many offers which I have accepted but I did not received their payment yet. I appreciate your help on this issue. Thank you anyway! Alexandra Cunha
@yasminhorn_2 жыл бұрын
Hi Alexandra! Welcome to the reselling business! 😃 I would not recommend sending any items to the buyers until you receive payment. If you ship them the item before you receive payment, you run the risk of not receiving payment from the buyer and they end up getting a free item. It’s best to hold on to the item until the buyer pays. You will encounter many buyers who buy an item from you, but never pay. In this case, eBay will cancel the transaction for you within 4 days and you can relist it for sale. It happens a lot, eBay is working on improving this.

Hi terry sorry for such delayed response I’m not sure how I missed this! I think at this time I was testing the waters and I didn’t want to add more fees then I was already paying, but I’m finding that increasing the % of promoted listing it helps advertise better. I think currently I’m doing between 2-3%. Some sellers do ebay’s recommended ad fee, but im just trying to keep more money in my pocket as possible. Especially since I don’t sell a lot of high ticket items

@@yasminhorn_ I'm testing it out at 7%. Looking forward to see how it goes. But I'm wondering... Do we get charged for each click on the promoted listing? Or only when someone buys through that? Because with most other platforms you pay per click (referred as PPC)... I've tried to find an answer but it's still unclear
@yasminhorn_2 жыл бұрын
@@danisht wow 7% is pretty high, but that should help you stay competitive and bump up visibility and increase sales. You’re not charged until a buyer clicks on your promoted listing and purchases the promoted item within 30 days, so you only pay for sales. Hope this helps.

Hi Robin! I was just watching your most recent unboxing lol But yes I can relate 💯 stuff is so hard to sell and profit margins are so low just not worth it. I think they went up on their prices a bit as well. I see your getting into electronics, I think that category always sell pretty good.
@robinryan66882 жыл бұрын
@@yasminhorn_ ya I do like selling hard goods like the electronics, but I love selling what I get in my pallets but my local pallet guy hasn’t been able to get any pallets lately so now I’m sourcing again at the thrift stores but my good will has went way up on their prices. So I’m still looking into sourcing pallets or boxes of stuff to be delivered. Do you like Jomar that you have gotten shoes from? I’ve thought about trying them.
@yasminhorn_2 жыл бұрын
@@robinryan6688 yes, it seems that lot of online sourcing companies have a high demand. I like Jomar, again like any company it’s a hit or miss and a gamble. However, for the most part made not only my money back, but I’ve been able to make a very good profit with still inventory left to sell. Definitely way better than Wholesale Ninjas 😅. FYI it does take about a whole month to get your boxes from Jomar, that’s the only part that I don’t like. Shoes sell really good for me. Lately I’ve been sourcing at the Goodwill bins (outlet) because I pay under $2 for each item and have found some nice shoes to resell for good money.

Great minds think alike. Every year I set goals and not resolutions. I break my goals down to weekly goals so I can build up a habit through out the year. I sell clothes on ebay. I use to have free shipping on all of my items. With the offers and returns and rise in shipping cost it really killed my profit. I decided to take a gamble and charge shipping on all of my items in my store. After making that move it has not affected my sales at all. Keep doing what you are doing, you're awesome. I am learning a lot from your videos. 😀
